How long is too long?

We usually go for about 6 days. We'd drive down on day 1 spending the day at the hotel swimming or whatever. Park, Park, Park, Park, then the last day for travel. This past June, we did 7 days, using the extra for DQ and a dinner show out in town. I am thinking to do maybe 10days since I want to also go to US/IOA. DH thinks that may be too long. I'm wondering, too. I've heard of people spending 2wks on property.

How long do you go?

Have you ever gone and realized it was just too long?

We usually do about 8 days. We spend almost all of them at the parks...doing some pool time late at night or early before we hit the parks. I always say we will do a pool relaxing day but then we itch to go to the park. On our last trip we did both water parks and DQ, too.

My philosophy is I can relax at home, so when I'm at Disney I want to do the parks. That said, and it's true for me no matter where I am, after about 5-6 days I'm ready to go home.

And I disagree that 1 day per park means a lot of rushing around. Especially when 2 of the parks don't have enough attractions to make up a full day.
I completely agree with this, especially if I go in the summer. I like to spend a day at the water parks but not too much time at the pool because its something I can do at home, when I'm in Disney I'd rather spend most of the time in the parks

For me, I can see 3 weeks being too long.

I usually go for 9 days and that includes Universal. If I did a few days of sleeping in and enjoying my hotel, I could easily stay for 2 weeks. (if time and money permitted)

Our first trip was 6 nights 7 days...and it wasn't nearly enough. So on our 2nd trip we made it 7 nights/8 days...which was great...we managed to do 2 days in each park except AK which we did in one day. On our last trip we added a day yet again. It was nice because the first day we were there we went to MK and didn't have to rush....we took our time and enjoyed the park. We are going this year at the end of september and this time we added another day YET again...we are going for 10 days/9 nights. We plan on arriving late Friday evening and leaving Sunday afternoon...which means we will have 8 FULL days of Disney....we only do the main park...no Water Parks. If i keep adding a day by the time our 20th trip comes along we'll be going for a month! Which thinking about it...it wouldn't be all that bad!:lookaroun I think that with this being out 4th family trip and us going for more days we will get to relax and enjoy the Parks a bit more and not be running from one park to the next.

We have stayed anywhere between 5 days, and ten days. Five days seemed more rushed, but it was fun at the same time just because we turned it into how much can we get in. I think we tend to lean towards the 8 days to 10 however. Because we can take our time, spend days around resorts and being lazy, yet enjoy the parks and everything the entire place has to offer, many of times several times before we have to take off.

That being said, there is always the feeling that we never spent enough time and the thought that maybe next time, we will add another day or two.
