How is it in Oct.?

October is a great time. The crowds are low (a 4 meaning max wait times of 45 minutes) and the weather is cooler than the summer. It will be in the high 80s early 90s at worst.
More importantly, there is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!

I've gone in October the last 4 visits and I love it. MNSSHP and the Food & Wine Festival are great. The weather is pretty awesome and so are the crowds

October is definitely my favorite time to go. You have to shell out the extra cash for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, it's the best! You get to go trick or treating around the MK, they have fortune tellers and a whole bunch of other cool stuff. It's worth it! Have a great time.

My family and I are going in Oct. I was wondering how the weather is and the crowds. We are going oct 12-18. Thanks!

Great question! I wasn't sure how bad the crowds would be and was hoping it wouldn't be too bad. My family and I will be there Oct. 4-10. I cannot wait! :ROFLOL:

One of my favorite times of year to go! We went around the second week of October a few years back and can't wait to go again during that time of year. MNSSHP is an absolute blast, I highly recommend it.

The weather is very manageable. We only had one hot day and it was our second day of the trip. Every day after that was wonderful. Manageable humidity and hardly any rain. We just had a brief 30min storm and nothing more.

Crowds were manageable as well. Wait times were pretty low. I think the longest we waited was 30min for Splash Mountain. We FastPassed anything else that looked long.

I'm sure you'll have a great time!

We went October 10th-18th last year in 2008. We found it to be a little crowded for our taste, although we usually go in January. It was due to the Columbus day crowds. It is not rated a 4 on touring plans though, its more like a 5,6, or 7. I would plan your days using touring plans though. It is still managable and we were able to do everything we wanted to! Have fun!

I'm probably going to be going this year in October too. Not sure which week yet tho but I'm hoping for the last week because it's Halloween and also my birthday. :ROFLOL:. But this thread really answered my questions. I'm just hoping I'm still going to be able to swim. See you all there!!!

I agree that it's a very nice time to go. Food and Wine (and the concert series are) great, the many culinary demo's are something to participate in (if you are in to those things, and MNSSHP is a fun special event.

Check out the Food and Wine Program for full details.

Only negative about this time is Columbus weekend (Oct. 10-12) where things are noticably more crowded.

The crowds arent bad but it can get hot and I mean feel like summer heat. usually here in Florida we dont get a break from the heat until late November. But at least in October there wont be as much humidity.

crowds are hit or miss, i find that anymore with all the great deals disney is giving out that there isn't really a time MK isn't busy. the only time i've had the parks to myself in recent years is in early feb. weather can be hot still. you never know. at least by then hurricane season is dying down.

We are going in Oct 2010 over Halloween. We just love than time of year. We usually rotate years between Xmas/Thanksgiving time and then Halloween. While I love the decorations at Xmas time, I think I prefer Halloween time. Plus you can usually bet your going to have nice weather, Dec it can be 70 or it can be 35.
