Coral Reef (hubby loves seafood-is this a good bet for seafood)

Crystal Palace for character dinner? (ate breakfast here-very good but wondering should I try another MK restaurant?)

Coral reef has a very nice atmosphere but hit or miss food. If you can get there early and are willing to wait, ask the host/hostess for a table by the tank....they will honor the request if you make it clear the wait will not bother you. Narcoossee's is much better as far selection and food quality. I believe is is 2 TS credits.

Character buffet food in the parks is very similar, just the characters are different. Have you considered Tusker House at AK?

Rose N Crown is fine...Le Cellier is great. Lunch is still only one TS credit. Book early!

i totally agree with the mad hatter...coral reef for the view is fun but the food isn't consistent. flying fish has been (for us) consistent in both great food and service on each of the four times we've been there. it's 2 credits on the ddp so keep that in mind if needed.

Well, I can vouch for the Rose and Crown. I have never had a bad meal there. Try the bangers and mash (sausage and mashed potatoes). They're sublime.

My second fave restaurant is The Brown Derby. Great wait staff and the food is quite good.

Are you staying at the Poly? Is that why you picked Kona Cafe? Personally I would drop that one & add another Epcot WS restaurant.

I had great experiences at Kona Cafe for Lunch and Dinner in the past.

I went to Via Napoli in December. I can't tell you how the pizza was. The Chicken Parmesan was huge and tasted great. The problem was the sauce tasted blah. I have to tell you ahead of time that Via Napoli is very loud since that has turned people off there in the past.

Kona Cafe is best for breakfast IMO -

I would suggest Flying Fish over Coral Reef too.

There is also plenty of seafood options at better rated restaurants - just look through the menus.

Where is Flying Fish and Narcoose (spelling)? I am staying at Wilderness Lodge and need help getting to unfamiliar restaurants.

I thought Kona Cafe's menu sounded good-was planning our first dinner there?

Flying Fish Cafe is at the Boardwalk. Narcoosee is at the Grand Floridian.

To get to Flying Fish if you're only using Disney transportation, your best bets would either be to a: bus or boat to MK, then bus to Boardwalk, OR b: bus to MGM, then walk/boat to Boardwalk.

To get to Narcoossee's if you're only using Disney transportation, better options include
a: bus/boat to MK, hop on the monorail
b: bus/boat to MK, boat to GF (most likely faster than monorail, as the resort loop makes the GF the last stop)
c: boat to Contemporary, then monorail

Bear in mind, if you're going to use the dining plan, both restaurants are Signature Dining restaurants and will require 2 TS credits.

we like to do flying fish (one of our fav places to eat) when we've been to dhs. it's just a short walk to the boardwalk from dhs as well as epcot. we then either walk back to the park and catch a bus to our hotel or if it's after hours go by bus from the bwi (whose lobby is right next to flying fish) to dtd and transfer to a bus to our resort. depending on what time of year you're going and what time your dinner is the parks close early at some times of the year but the dtd buses run later than the parks do when the parks close early. we typically go in the winter months when the parks close at early at 7pm, we have an 8 or 9pm dinner then head back to the hotel so that's how it works for us with disney transportation between two resorts or the boardwalk and the resorts.

looks good! But for me - I wouldn't do Coral Reef. I have heard too many mixed reviews on it. You can get sea food at many restaurants in the world. There are not a lot of MK TS options so I would keep Crystal Palace. Have a great trip and good luck making the ADR's!

Thanks for all the feedback, I am taking your advice and canceling Coral Reef and also Chef Mickey and adding Brown Derby at Studios for the Fantasmic Dinner package....how does that sound? I read a lot of bad reviews for Chef Mickey's and I know we will see the characters at the parks anyway. Thanks
