How do you pay for your trip?

WOW BARGAIN. What were the details of this please.... just out of interest?
I initially found it on Teletext.com where it came up with a bunch of other offers. Most of these will say 2* accomodation , but when you chase them up they are only fly-drive. However this one was legit. Flight from Gatwick to Sandford. The only down side was that the outbound flight went via Glasgow and so added over two hours to the flight time. But that's a minor sacrifice to make :) The accomodation was in Quality Inn Polynesian - on 192, just past the big Orange.

Whilst not as cheap this time I am going there again in two weeks (at the tail end of my annual pass).

Both trips were booked through http://www.holidayclick.co.uk

Well to pay for this trip in December I had to pimp out my wife for the dough. JK, my mother in law is going and her airplane ticket is her Xmas gift from us. And Going to Disney is my wife and I gift to one another. Also we had a piggy bank that was given to us as an engagement gift to save for our honeymoon. Since the Honeymoon is over we now use it for trips so we probably have 100-200 in it.

I'm taking my family in October from a lucky trip in May, courtesy of Grand Casino Hinckley! I played a dollar machine and the money just kept falling out - I ended up with $3,200 - when someone asked me, "what are you going to do with all that money?" - I answered, "I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!"

I book the airlines in as much advance as possible using the cheapest airline I can find. We usually just charge the rest and take about $300-$400 cash/traveler's cheques for indientals like tipping and off-site dining.

We usually pay it off fairly quickly but spending an extra $800 this trip due to the hurricane delay is going to put a hinderance on the pay-off. We have put the AMEX away and are trying to use as much cash as possible for our incidentals of living and using the extra cash to pay in addition to the normal amount we budget for the card.

Worst case, we could always refinance the house! Might as well put that equity to work for you!! j/k!!

Awesome!! A fellow Minnesotan!! GCH was the first casino that I went to when I turned 18. I never win on slot machines though  . I've switched to blackjack, but you never when a whole lot when you're betting the minimum bet :hammer:.

Ok, back to the topic. (I always seem to be OT  ) Last time I went I was still in HS, so my parents pretty much picked everything up. We fly down using my mom's frequent flyer miles (she travels a lot for business). My mom tries to schedule the trip so she can do some business while she's there. That means her airfare, and parts of the hotel, rental car and meals are paid for. It takes a good chunk out of our final bill which helps.

Play now.. Pay Later... that's my plan!! Kinda dumb since I'm still paying off last years 6K trip :brick: My new plan is my Disney Rewards Visa. I'll pay for the trip, all my groceries, etc. with that card and I'll use the rewards to pay for meals when I go in February!

I always tell my wife

"YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU BUT YOU LEAVE SOME NICE MEMORIES AND BILLS BEHIND!!!

We put money aside every week and save all of our change. If we get any cash gifts for b-days or Christmas, we also save that for our trip.

Since we are going just before Christmas this year, I have told my 15 year old daughter that her Christmas present is the trip and I won't say no to any reasonable souvenir request. Since we will be returning home late on December 23rd, I will have to be already for Christmas with the families before we leave and any leftover Christmas money (Christmas Club account) will be ours to spend on our trip. I have a feeling that I'm not going to be as generous as I usually am with Christmas gifts this year! I will probably stick to my budget for once!!!

I work for a great company that let's me cash out my un-used sick time. I can also cash out some of my vacation hours. I put aside what I can from my Xmas bonus (last year about $500). I put aside my IRS refund, if any. I also have $50 deposited to ING 2X a month. I have a bunch of eBay stuff I have to list. My car is paid off and I eat peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for breakfast instead my McD's plus I make my own chocolate milk. (saves abot $1.50 a day for the milk alone!). I also have the Disney VISA and keep an eye out for Florida resident Discounts.

Well after shopping around we usually use Mouseketrips so we get a good deal from the start. We always get things in pieces. First airline tickets. Once those paid, rental car, then the hotel, etc.
Because a Disney vacation ends up being our only vacation for the year we save and save all year. I even take my coins to the bank! I have also sold stuff on EBay and have not gone out to lunch at work. Not buying a lot of clothes. All this in the name of Disney :)

Fortunately, my Disney Vacation Club pays for my room. I haven't paid for a room in 10 years. At least not at checkout. Best thing I ever did. Airfare from NY is reasonable so I just consider than an extra bill once a year. As for spending money (the real expense) and park passes, I just put some extra money away.

I get a very nice tax season bonus (I'm an accountant) and that's my spending money. I also do web site design on the side so 2-3 sites a year more than covers it.

Only 66 more days til I'm Home :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I have two jobs!!

As well as teaching dance in the afternoons/evenings, I work in an office (boring clerical stuff) in the mornings to pay for my car and holidays. This means I hardly have any free time for going out socialising/drinking! Just as well as I would rather do that while at WDW!!

I build the trip into our annual budget. Every January, I create a detailed month-by-month budget, identifying all expenses and income for the year. Since the trips tend to cost quite a bit, we are forced to make sacrifices in other areas to balance the budget (Looks like we're remodeling the bathroom ourselves!).

We did something a little different this year. Beginning in January I saved all my overtime money into our Disney Dollars fund. It's going to cover the cost of the trip, plus most of our spending money. We book early in the year and stay at the All Star Resorts, which is fine for us, because we are at the parks everyday from open to close. Why pay for a room with a view (which costs more) if you're not going to be in the room to enjoy that view?

48 days 18.5 hours to go!

I did not know that was possible... :animwink:

BRAVO Mr. Toad!!!

My wife and I put every single thing we buy on our Disney Visa Card (food, gas, beer, beer, beer, and anything else you can buy with credit) and then pay it off in full at the end of every month so we don't have to pay interest on it.
So far we've amassed just over $400 in Disney Rewards Dollars. Pays for room and food for weekend trips.
Best credit card ever invented.
:)

But before the rewards card I robbed little old lady's purses. :lookaroun

"I star in o films. My name is Buck Naked"-George Costanza. Luckily, I'm 17 and don't have to worry about paying for anything, but my gas bill and car insurance. I only use my money to pay bills, the rest goes to the bank. I currently have over $3,000 in my account.
