It should be interesting to see who wins...the team with the $$ players (yankees) or that other team which ain't got the $$ (marlins)....

I said before the respective LCSs, it would be NY and FLA in the World Series.....now I pick the Marlins to win it all in six games....

Cheryl, the fans I'm talking about know who I'm talking about...

You, tigsmom, and Lil mermaid have at least showed respect...and haven't trashed another team after a great series.

Well, I'm really done with this...because I just know that the only people those "fans" will look "cool" to are fellow unsportsmanlike, unclassy fans and that's it.

I just get a kick out of the fact that some Yanks fans out there think they're all mighty and that they have just cruised through this postseason... (I believe this is the first time that the Yanks have gone to Game 7 in the ALCS in a LONG time...let alone extra innings)

Go back and look at the other threads on this forum when the Red Sox were playing the A's...after the fact...did you see anyone trash the A's? Same with the Cubs...and why did you not see this? Because we don't take postseason wins for granted...we appreciate them

I just kinda think the fans that are like this were a little nervous and were starting to lose faith in their "all mighty team"...and then felt like "Yeah, I knew we were gonna win all along"

Well, I have said my piece and I'm gonna stop before I start repeating myself over and over again. And to end this off...I will just say...

Good luck to both teams...TEAMS...both were hard fought battles, and even though the WS didn't turn out the way many of us had hoped...both teams had tough competitors and played their hearts out. (And this goes to everyone who played in the postseason...it was one of the most exciting postseasons I've ever witnessed)

Threads like this make me kind of glad all my teams stink. Don't forget, when you get right down to it, it's just a bunch of millionares in pajamas hitting things with sticks. Not exactly worth losing sleep over one way or the other.

You guys make it seem like the Yankees blew the Red Sox away...but I'm sorry, Game 7 in the 11th inning isn't exactly a blowout...and you come in and say we have a loser mentality...

Answer me this...did the Red Sox have a loser mentality back in 1999 when they were down 0-2 against Cleveland and win 3 in a row?

Did the Red Sox have a loser mentality against Oakland when they were down 0-2 and came back to win 3 in a row?

Did the Red Sox have a loser mentality when this series was at 3-2 in Yankees Stadium with one of your best pitchers starting and our worst...and ended up winning that one.

God...I can't say it for all Yankees fans...but 99% of you take your moneybuying championships for granted...and just for this reason do I hope that the Marlins crush the Yanks in 5 games or less. I did have respect for the Yankees because of their ability to play...but you fans make me have no respect for you.

(and I apologize to those few Yankees fans out there that actually do have respect for other teams out there...)

To answer your questions. Yes they Did. Which is my opinion but what the hell, I could be wrong. But I don't think so:wave:

Actually most Marlin fans I have spoken with wanted to play the red sox to prove John Henry wrong . oh and one more thing Bri you know I love ya but dont put me as a fan like sean because I am not. I am proud that this was a great series an I actually thought your Red socks beat us .

My OPINION may stink, but belive me, my ATTITUDE cannot be determined by a few short words ;) and if I am A "JERK" for speaking my OPINION oh well, Ignore it. It might be My OPINION that you are a JERK or a A$$HOLE. But I keep it to Myself and not call you one in an open forum, I just don't reply :animwink:

I live about 30 minutes outside of NYC and my office is full of Yankees fans. Some handled themselves nicely, some not so well. I think you find this will all teams and all sports. I think the reason people judge the Yankee fans so much is because they win all the time.

That being said, I was really hoping the Red Sox won. I was hoping very badly. But the way I deal with the loss is this. I try to find a silver lining. For some Sox fans it might have been they were 5 outs from making it to the WS. For others it might be thinking that they did so well and next year could be the year. For me it was easy. My father in-law is a major Red Sox fan and I knew the loss would be a giant bur in his sadle. So knowing that, I could go to sleep with a smile. :animwink:

For any UK readers - the New York Yankees are the US equivalent of Manchester United. They have a huge following of arrogant fans, many of whom choose to support the Yankees purely because they are a “winning team” and so these individuals feel they are superior to any other sports fan. In fact the Yankees are so like Manchester United, that they have signed some co-merchandising deal between the two teams.

Of course I do not tar all Yankee’s / Man U fans with the same brush. I met one Yankees fan when watching the Magic Kingdom parade a few weeks ago and he was honest enough to admit that he follows the New York Jets as well. Now there is contrast if ever I saw it!
