One rainstorm isn't going to do squat. There was a HUGE storm today with rain and hail and wind! So drought is not anything to worry about.
Exactly. Just because we get dumped with some rain on one day does not relieve our drought conditions. Give us 4 inches of rain a day for about a month and we'll be doing good. It's a serious thing across the state right now and no restrictions have been lifted because we've had a few thunderstorms move through the area last week. One rainstorm isn't going to do squat. The Hillsborough River which provides the water for the Tampa Bay Area is EIGHT FEET - not eight inches, but feet - low. It's our main aquifer.
Drought is a problem. You won't really notice is at WDW because they have the money to pay the fees to avoid watering restrictions or to work around them. But it is a problem in 80% of the state. Even sadder, Florida isn't the worst. Much of the South is dealing with drought conditions right now.
Hurricane season (which started on June 1st with Tropical Storm Barry) will help if we get storms through to deliver rain. It'll take awhile though before we can hope to get back to normal levels across the entire state. (And, hopefully, region as well.)

Just because we've started getting rain, doesn't mean things are suddenly all perfect. The WDW area encompasses two water management districts. Here's the info for both:Last I saw, there was plenty of water. It's been raining almost every day....
