How bad is the ToT drop?

I have never been on ToT before, and I am making it a must-do on my next trip to WDW, so I was wondering, how bad is the drop on the ride? You see, certain drops I can stand, but others I get this feeling that makes me really dizzy. So, how bad is the drop on ToT?

It is AWESOME! I don't normally like drop rides but this for some reason is different, maybe because it is in the dark and I can't see what might be going on. But I could ride this all day!

Depends on which elevator you get. Regardless, my 5 and 7 year olds had no issue on any of the elevators and we rode TOT about 5 times in a row. You will love it!

It has nothing to do with which elevator you get. Every ride vehicle is identical - it's the ride control computer that selects which "drop profile" you get during your ride. It's randomly selected.

I have severe motion sickness and occasionally experience vertigo, and I don't do upside-down coasters or anything that spins....but ToT is my favorite ride.

You'd need to be more specific as to what makes you get dizzy.

For example, if I am on a ride that goes in an arc style, if I look down I start to feel, dizzy, but if I don't I'm fine.

Non-drowsy Dramamine...

When I was younger I could ride any coaster known to man all day long and feel fine. I hadn't been to a theme park in several years until we went to WDW in 2012. First ride was EE and about 2 seconds into the backwards portion I felt dizzy, light-headed and my stomach was uneasy the rest of the day. Took a 24-hour non-drowsy Dramamine every morning and never had an issue the rest of my week long trip.

If you are afraid of straight down drops or elevators like I am it is intense. Ride it twice in a row though and it is fun! Scares me to death the first couple of times but one of the best rides I have ever ridden! I ride it over and over after the first two.

Maybe it's just me and my crazy ride mind, but it feels like the vehicle is at a bit of an angle downward about halfway through...that's what makes me dizzy, but nevertheless I still love it!

ToT is one of my favorite rides, although I have motion sickness and can't even think about The Mad Tea Party without getting severe nausea...!!! I've never had any problems with the drop, I actually love and can ride it many times in a row!

As someone who loves coasters, but also gets motion sickness I highly suggest taking non-drowsy Dramamine and do not eat before going on ToT.

I really enjoyed the ride quite a bit, and I think you will too!

Also, another word of advice: if you get motion sickness like me, do not do ToT and RNR back-to-back. Wait a little while in between. Just trust me on this one.

Sounds like a bunch of double-talk to me. Are you telling me that the thrill of the first drop for a newby of 4 stories is less equivalent of an initial drop of 2 stories? Don't you think that if a newby started out with a 2 story drop that they would encounter less anxiety when they encounter a drop of 4 stories? Like I stated, it all depends on what elevator they get placed in. As for the OP, I hope you get a 2 story drop prior to the 4 story drop.

Do it once in the daytime so you can get some daylight coming down the shaft and through the doors to keep your orientation...once you get hooked (you most likely will be) then go back for a few trips after dark! The lack of daylight really takes the ride to a whole new level IMO. I loved it and the randomization of the ride makes it even more fun to ride over and over!
