How actually likes the carpet ride more than Dumbo?

I've never really had the desire to ride Dumbo, the Magic Carpets or TriceraTop. But the Astro Orbiter...that's something I ride every trip!

I don't know why, but Astro Orbiter makes me sick. I ride Space Mountain, Rock N Roll Rollercoaster & even Misson Space, (the real version), but I never get off Astro Orbiter without feeling a bit queasy.
Dumbo is a classic, which everyone wants to ride, and many just assume Alladin is the same thing. I think we should keep Alladin's appeal our secret and keep the lines down.

I like Alladin more than Dumbo.

For one, it seems to last longer. They're both short rides, but I think Alladin is a little longer than Dumbo. Also, if the spitting camels are working, I always have fun trying to raise up our carpet at just the right time to get my wife squirted. :D

But between Dumbo and the three Dumbo Clone rides, I think Astro Orbiter is my favorite.

On another note, I am puzzled by all the people so far who have said they have never rode Dumbo or one of these other rides...especially those who have been to WDW many times. How can you go that many times and not have ridden every ride at least once just to say you did it?:shrug:

Every time we have gone, we have made a point to ride almost every single ride. There are inevitably a few that we don't get to ride by the end of the day on any given trip, or by the end of the trip itself if we go more than one day to MK, but this idea of visiting a park and only doing a handful of rides, I just don't get. Our last trip was in April, so we haven't done the refurbished Haunted Mansion, and we haven't rode Stitches Great Escape (but we rode it when it was Alien Encounter), and those are the only two rides at MK that I can think of right now that we haven't done.

I don't mean to diss anyone else's way of enjoying the place, since each of us enjoys it our own way. And if it works for you, then more power to ya. But as for myself, I just can't conceive of going to WDW that many times and still having so many rides that I haven't done.

I've always been afraid to ride Dumbo because I'm fearful I won't fit! (I'm a normal sized female adult tyvm!) I do however love riding Aladdin. I'm not sure what it is about the ride but my boyfriend and I always have a blast on it.

You got to ride Dumbo at least once in your lifetime. Overall I think they are both ridiculous waits. I've actually only been on Astro Orbitor once in my life.

YAY!! I'm so excited..I actually start my training at Mission Space today!!!:sohappy:

I love the carpets. I have not been on Dumbo in years but I never miss the carpets. I especially love it at night its just a fun little escape.

I like the flying carpets better as well, however, nothing beat the look on my daughter's face when she got in her dumbo and kept saying "Elfant" and making elephant noises over and over. (Dumbo is one of the few disney characters she doesn't immediately recognize). I think the appeal to kids is what it's all about in fantasyland.

I think that goes for most of Fantasyland. Before my daughter came around, my wife and I would avoid fantasyland for the most part. However, re-riding all those classic rides and watching her face on rides like small world and Peter Pan gives it all an entirely different meaning.

My DH and I are not small people and we both fit in Dumbo. You have to ride it just once at least............

If we're just comparing Aladdin's Magic Carpets to Dumbo, then I will definitely go with Aladdin. I love the theming, the much shorter lines, the reuse of the spitting camels from the Aladdin's Royal Caravan Parade, and I don't think they're a waste of prime space. What else are you really going to put right there? And the pathways are plenty wide, so I don't see that as a good argument against them, either.
I'm not saying I dislike Dumbo, though I will admit that it is the ONLY attraction in the four Disney World Parks that I have not been on (unless you also count the Spaceship Earth refurb). I have, however, been on it many times at Disneyland and eventually someday I will force myself to waste 30-50 minutes of precious WDW touring time to go on it at the Magic Kingdom. Are the lines shorter at the after-hours parties like MNSSHP?

They weren't when I was there for the first MNSSHP (the rained out one :lookaroun) and they weren't any shorter at MVMCP either. :(

ridden all three

They're all the basic same thing...

I rode Dumbo @ age 3... with my dad...

So, riding the carpets, Dumbo and T-Spin with my kids was a must...

I like all three.

I like the Magic Carpet ride & Dumbo.
I guess I prefer Dumbo just because of the character & the fact that it's in Fantasyland.
But, they are both very similar.

WOW! you have to try them at least once, it's a pretty cool experience. try to go on them at night, AND when the planets are spinning lol. i've been on them before when the planets are turned off and its just not the same.

I have done all four of the Dumbo Clone rides. Astro-Orbitor is the best at night with the planets on. We only had a 5min wait! Dumbo is a run-into-the- park-and-do-the-frist-day-so-I-can-tell-my-3-and-2-year-old-we-did-it! It was fun and I though of the typical family memories I was making a la a WDW commmerical. Aladin was walk-on several different times while we were there in Sept. Tricertops was full of love bugs in Sept and DS 3 said it was the stinky-dino ride. Seriously, they were swarming that ride, it looked so gross, I guess it made the line short though.
