How About a new Disney Channel

and I"m not sure if this is still the case but there was or still is several numbered Disney chanels on satelite. ala Disney chanel 3 Disney channel 4..

Does anyone find the DC being very teen poper these days. now im only 16 and when i was younger DC was pretty good, they had recess and they were still playing Walt Disneys Wonderful World of Color. But now i cant watch half the movies Altho I did like High School Musical.

Now they do have Toon D:fork:isney AND the Disney CHANNEL
How about a Diffrent Disney Channel like a Vintage Disney, Where they play Wonderdul world of color, and zorro, along with other the cool behinde the scence shows they play on the Travel Channel.

Personally, I don't think they need a new channel. I think they just need to get rid of alot of the worthless rubbish on the current two channels. I always thought of Toon Disney as a channel where you would frequently see the old Mickey/Donald/Goofy/Pluto cartoons as well as many of the classic animated movies. Boy was I wrong! When I look at the lineup for that channel, once in a while I will see an animated movie that looks good, but the rest of it is CRAP.

That is true...with that many channels, why not bring back some vintage programming? There's gotta be some kind of market out there for it...is it just not large enough to make it worthwhile?

Actually, to be technical, Disney only owns and operates the various Disney Channels, ABC, ABC Family, ESPNs, and SoapNet. They have a significant stake in Lifetime. They used to have a stake in E! Networks, but the sold that. Discovery, Travel, etc. are operated by Discovery with Liberty Media having a stake as well (I think they still have it, anyway). Disney's cable offerings aren't that diversified, though. So, they could add/transition a channel.

They might operate 100 channels, but the type of programming being asked for in this thread still ain't on the tube.

Here are the problems with some of Disney's channels:

The Disney Channel only appeals to teens and preschoolers. This is not feasable. To gain a bigger crowd, you must appeal to all ages possible, that way you can make more money. Plus, it goes with Disney's appeal of family entertainment.

All of the Disney Channel's current shows SUCK. They purile and lack any sence of structure, character, or the aristitillian unities. Even Stevens was a good show, and many others were. Now its just a teeny bopper hell. Disney should take notes from Animaniacs and Pinkey and the Brain. Those are good examples of family entertainment.

There's hardley anything Disney on the Disney channel anymore. Where's Mickey? Why call it the Disney channel if there's hardley anything Disney on anymore? Might as well call it the "Teeny Bopper channel."

Toon Disney is in a bigger state of disrepair. Once again, its hardley showing any thing Disney related anymore. Jetix is just flat out odd. Digimon?! Anime?! Power Rangers!?!? Are they on crack?

Here's what I think they should do: Produce better quality and more family oriented shows. No more teeny bopper junk! Make some cartoons with Disney characters in them. Get rid of all the terrible anime shows and Power Rangers junk and bring back classic Disney shows on Toon Disney.

They're not gonna get rid of the kiddy crap. That's what the youngins today like. The best you can hope for is some more balance, either on the current channels or through new outlets.
