Hotel blow dryers....

I really like my personal blow dryer but I don't want to bring it because its about 4-5 lbs (think professional dryer) that I don't want to put in my luggage weight. Talk to me about the hotel dryers, I am sure they are the typical hotel kind that are attached to the wall. Are they decent? I assume it doesn't have a nozzle attachment?

I probably won't bring mine but I still want to have nice hair while there.

From what I remember, there's no diffuser attachment. It's been a while since I've used one, but I don't think that all rooms have the kind that attach to the wall. I seem to recall one room having the hair dryer stashed on a shelf under the bathroom sink. I thought it worked well, but I don't use heat tools that much. My hair gets blown out once every eight weeks when my stylist does it.

At PORS, CBR and AoA they are the typical on the wall kind. It takes forever for us to dry our hair with theirs, so we started bringing ours from home. They are also very loud. Since we usually come in very late and always wash our hair before going to bed, we decided it would be better to bring ours that are much quieter out of respect for our neighbors.

Ahhh this is my problem every trip, but in a different way.
I always bring my hair dry, wish I didn't because the room has one that works to a decent extent, then I end up not styling my hair at all because I realize I'm on vacation and don't give a dang! But next trip will be our honeymoon so I need nice hair for photos!

They're the typical hair dryer found in all motels across the country. Uni has real hair dryers...at least at PBH, they do.

The wall kind is fine for me, but I have short hair...and not much of it.

You could always but a cheapo one at Wal-Mart or the drug store or something. Hair dryers are like $20 there and they aren't five pounds!!

Have a good trip and good hair days!!

I have had small issues with the hair dryer at AoA overheating and needing to cool down before it would turn back on, i have quite long hair, it took me about 10-15 minutes to completely dry my hair using the hair dryer provided, also found strands of my air would get sucked in the back of the dryer where the fan part is.

I think they're fine -- not fancy, but perfectly passable. And the previous poster is right: some of the resorts will have an in-the-wall hairdryer (I think most the values and mods do), and some (e.g., some or all deluxes) will have a separate one in a drawer. You'll want to check the details for your particular resort.

After the first day or so, I generally discover four things: (1) Florida humidity is singularly designed to "un-do" whatever I've done to my hair in the morning, so it's not worth spending much time styling it because within an hour, it's going to look as if I haven't touched it anyway; and (2) it's far more pleasant to step out into the heat with a cool, damp, tousled head which can slowly dry over the course of my trip to a Park (I "style" it by running my hands through it as it dries, to encourage each section to dry in the right direction), than to emerge with a dry scalp that the sun will proceed to bake; and (3) my family doesn't care whether my hair looks great or not, and when I'm on vacation with them, I find I don't either; and (4) there is no "hair day" so bad that a Mickey ear hat can't rectify it.:D
