i was just wondering the same thing seacastle. never had a hot dog on property. Is it really worth it, or just your typical dog? Chicago red hots are great as well as nathans.

I find them pretty bland. I like natural casing beef/pork mix. Of course that is personal taste, but I find the "all beef, skinless" offerings at WDW on the timid side of the hot dog scale.

Now if they would serve some Rippers in WDW, that would be a conversation starter.

(I pass on the cremator dogs)

There just isn't as much of a demand for hot dogs for there to be lots of carts out all the time.

During the busy holiday season, they do bring out additional hot dog carts to help cut down on some of the madness that the quick service locations get slammed with.

a year ago end of july/beginning of august they had one also in tomorrowland. i think they may bring them out during the busy season to help offset the crowds. i know i've also gotten one off a cart in epcot on the same vacation. my husband and i like to split a dog, chips and a drink for lunch then do a sit down for dinner.

I always thought they should have roasted corn LOL. Stupid idea I know but nothing comes between be and roasted corn. They serve turkey legs and corn dogs but it is funny that they dont sell the standard hot dog, expecially in Magic Kingdom. I dont even think I have ever seen a soft serve pretzel there either. I bet they would hve really good hot dogs, even the popcorn there is desirabul and im not a big popcorn eater.

How do hot dogs taste at Disney anyway? I've always been scared to get a hot dog on property.

They are good, but to me they are also very plain.

People around here eat hot dogs with lots of stuff in it, like potato chips, cheese, corn, peas, raisins, and the list goes on. It is like a big salad with a sausage and some bread.

There is a hotdog stand in Toontown Fair as well, no?

I don't think there are any food stands in Toontown. The only food location there is the Farmer's Market, I do know there is a food cart that sits close to the TTF entrance, but I do not know what it sells.

That and get a Giordano's franchise on property and I will be in heaven.

Thats funny. When you mentiond Giordano's the first thing that popped to my head is the Giordano's Plumbing & Heating Contractors that are in the town I live in. )

Cool! Those sound interesting. But isn't their seating all outdoors? I swore off eating outdoors after a bad bird experience at Peco Bill's one time.

The hot dogs are bland for a reason --

In the mass quantities that amusement and theme parks and stadiums serve hotdogs in the US, they are generally salt-bombs....they have so much sodium and preservative in them that they literally can spike your salt content way too high after only one hotdog...

THey are bland because they have much reduced salt content. Here's an instance of Disney actually doing something more healthy, and really ending up with an inferior product.

What is a dirty water hot dog? It doesn't sound very sanitary.

I've had a hot dog off a cart in NY and it was sooooo good. It's been about 20 yrs and I still remember it.
