Yeah, I had to. My old one died, and the part it needed couldn't be repaired. So it was either replace the part for $400 (on a laptop that I would be replacing soon anyway) or get a new one. So I got a new one.

DH just got a new camera. It's an SLR and I have yet to learn how to use it!

That's cool. I'm actually surprised that mine lasted as long as it did (I got it May 2004). I think it was in the shop at least 5 times within the last year. My new one will be a Dell.

I'm the same way with my mom's SLR.
I still can't get good pictures out of it.
