Horses on main street

I remember from when I was little there used to be Clidesdale Horses prancing around Main Street. The stable is still there but do the horses still go around? I have had an AP and have been 30+ times in the past year but not once have I seen the horses? Do they only come out in the morning perhaps? That might be an explanation.

They do during the welcome medley song. There use to be a trolley car pulled by horse...however, as crowds picked up...it became less and less practical.

I "heard" that sometimes you can see the horses at the front of main street somewhere ... but I've seen them around ... and I thought I still saw carriages traveling down main street in April this year? (Unless Im crazy)

The horses are usually just on Main Street for a few hours from park opening in the morning. I think you can see them over at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds later in the day, this is where they are stabled when not at the Magic Kingdom.

so is there a time I can watch the horses or are you saying they just stopped all together?

Horses are still there on a regular basis. The trolly and other vehicles are used less during crowded times, also the horses aren't brought out in excessive heat.

By the way, they're not Clydesdales, they're Percheron's and Belgian's. (In part I'm sure because Clydesdales are at another park :lookaroun )

Cool fact I just assumed they were Clydesdales the whole time.

When we were there in April, they had the horse drawn trolleys on Main Street. I was wanting to take a ride, but both mornings we were there, a bunch of other people beat me to it.

Do you reserve the right to get a ride or is it just first come first serve. My mom would love that.

As far as I know (which isn't very far, LOL), it's first come first serve.

But someone else can correct me if I'm wrong.

But if it IS first come, first serve, and you miss out on that first ride, then you can forget it. Because I missed out on the first ride and I thought I'd wait a minute or two for the trolly to come back down, but it never did. And I had too many real rides to ride to wait for that silly trolly driver to take his sweet time getting his bee-hind back down mainstreet. And when we walked up Main Street towards the hub, there the trolley was just sitting there doing God knows what...all I know is it wasn't moving. And any vehicle that ain't movin' is a vehicle that needs to get off my road. :D

I could be wrong.. but I think they usually have 2 horse trolleys out. One to bring guests up Main Street to the hub. The other brings guest from hub back down to the Train station area. So maybe he was waiting because of a timing schedule? Could be wrong but that would be my guess.

You're right. There are two, and they're out most days on main street in the morning. Also, one of the trolleys pulls the dancers for the MS show. You know the "I'm walking down Mainstreet USA!" one.

They do that a couple of times an hour in the mornings.
