As far as the creation of new rides, I'd have to guess (because I don't know) that Disney contracts the bulk of that out...What I'm wondering about is where dealers procure the parts from older Disney attractions to sell off

From what my friend told me, the Horizons vehicles were shipped to some company in Germany (?)... I can't quite remember the name. He seems insistant that these would be from WOM... based on his expertise into Disney Imagineering, I'd tend to have to trust what he says.

OK, Just got my Info back from IRM/PRI (The Company Selling the ride cars) The cars ARE the cars from HORIZONS... They are sending me out a SPEC Kit and all the details. I am Definetly interested in buying these, I live for
this stuff. I am a BIG collector, and these will be a MUST have in the collection!

I can't wait!!!


They have all the cars and controls...

If you guys want more info I'll be glad to let you know whatever you want about them...

What you could do is buy the whole kit, and then sell off the extra cars one-by-one to everyone on these boards. I could make a spot in my computer room against one wall for a Horizons vehicle. It'd be a unique place for people to sit! I could even wire up a cd-player to the speakers in the car with the entire Horizons Spiel.

Then I could close my eyes and pretend that they never tore it down. :cry:

Just got my email back. Here's what they said

"Dear Mr. ******:

Thank you for your recent inquiry. The Epcot ride we have available is the Horizon, cars and controls (no track). Please send us the name and address of your park and we will be happy to send specs.

What could people possibly do with the cars and controls. I could understand if you could make it work, but if it can't I wouldn't want to Spend 350,000 for it.

Put it in a den or basement...wreck room.....not the whole ride of course...just 1 car :)....it would be a great conversation piece ;)

I guess one car would be allright to have, but each car would cost about 2000 plus shipping.

Well if ya think about it, it's not too far out of line seeing as how they auctioned off the whole front section of the old monorail red for around 20,000.
