WHEN:
Friday, January 14th-Monday, January 17th

We had a 7:00 flight that evening b/c R & J both had school that day. When I say R had school what I really mean is that he had to work. He is a principal & really does not like taking off from work while school is in session. I happened to be off that day so I was able to take my time getting ready to go & for once didn't feel like I was rushing from work to the airport.

We ate at Penn Brewery for dinner & while we waited for our food R taught J how to gamble!!
IMG_3979.JPEG

He was so excited b/c he won $10.00. Beginner's luck!! 🤣
IMG_3980.JPEG

R decided that he only wanted pierogies that were on the appetizer menu. I tried to talk him into getting something more but he said he wasn't that hungry. Guess who was starving by the time we got to Florida??
IMG_3981.JPEG

There was quite the scene at the gate as the passengers from the previous flight were coming off. See my man standing up with the dark orange hoodie?? Wow.... Apparently he was refusing to wear his mask on the plane & was giving the flight attendants a hard time about it. He was still carrying on even after the flight. Well, he was so busy being a jerk that he forgot his coat on the plane. Now he wanted to go back on & get it. He was told he wasn't allowed. It was very obvious(& rightfully so) that Southwest took their good old time going back on there to retrieve it. It seemed like they were stalling long enough to give airport security time to get there!! Served him right!! All that did was created more of a scene though. Finally, security ended up escorting him out. He kept saying he has the right to not wear a mask. Come on dude, we've been wearing them on planes for the last 2 years. If you don't like it, stay home. No one is forcing you to fly. Where I got really irritated was when our flight was delayed b/c of Mr. Non Rule Follower. I don't want to sound mean but I hope he ended up getting some kind of fine over his antics!!
IMG_3983.JPEG

J started out by reading the beverage menu that evening!! 🤣
IMG_3987.JPEG

He followed up with the safety instructions after that!! 🤣
IMG_3988.JPEG

Fortunately our flight wasn't delayed too long & we landed shortly before 10. Really, 9:37 & our room still wasn't ready??
IMG_3989.PNG

By 9:50 it was though:rolleyes:
IMG_3990.PNG

None of us checked in luggage b/c it was going to be a short trip. The car service was waiting for us & we were home in no time at all!!

We got into NJ around 10:00 pm last night and woke up to the Cyclone Bomb weather this morning!!! I plan on spending the day indoors catching up on laundry and such!
It was 65 degrees here yesterday. We were coming back from the Penguins game last night around 10. You could barely see the road in front of you b/c it was snowing so hard. We ended up getting around 7 inches. Plus, it's cold!! It's only 20 degrees!! I'm off so I'm staying inside most of the day myself!!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 15TH

The appointment was at The Art of Shaving!! There was a location here at our local mall. R always wanted to go there so I bought him a gift card a few years ago. Covid hit & the mall was closed for awhile. When the mall reopened The Art of Shaving did not & still has not. I kept telling him he would have to use his gift card at Disney Springs instead!! When I told E that I was making an appointment for R I asked her if she wanted me to make one for J for a hair cut. They were supposed to have their appointments at the same time but on the way there R got a phone call from them. The barber who was supposed to cut J's hair called off(his wife went into labor--I guess we can forgive him 🤣). J's appointment would now be after R's instead.
IMG_4004.JPEG

We were there a few minutes early so we waited outside. Since J's appointment was going to be later E took him to get something to eat since the poor kid never got his Mickey waffles earlier at POR.
I took a "before" pic of R. I was so happy he was getting this done!! He purposely didn't shave or get his hair cut for weeks prior to this. I was tired of him complaining about how itchy his face was!!
IMG_4005.JPEG

I was told I was welcome to see this in action!!
IMG_4006.JPEG

The place was pretty cool. Small but really neat. They played a lot of Frank Sinatra type of music.
IMG_4007.JPEG

IMG_4009.JPEG

He was really excited to have this "straight razor"(I think that's what it's called)shave. He said it had been quite awhile since he had one.
IMG_4012.JPEG

The gentleman took a great deal of time with him. It almost reminded me of a facial for men!!
IMG_4016.JPEG

Then came the haircut!!

Crazy weather patterns this winter. 🤣 We had rain on and off pretty much every day in Florida this week but the temps were perfect with the exception of the rain!

Then it was J's turn!!
IMG_4021.JPEG

IMG_4024.JPEG

For whatever reason he was a little nervous about getting his hair washed but in the end he was happy that he did!!
IMG_4026.JPEG

He got some of that face treatment also!!
IMG_4027.JPEG

IMG_4029.JPEG

We have a trip planned for July. R & J have decided that they both want to go back!!
IMG_4030.JPEG

You get to pick a cologne scent at the end that they spray you with. I think you had a choice of 4 different kinds.
IMG_4032.JPEG

Had to throw this pic in!! This is J getting his 1st hair cut!! It was in 2016 at The Harmony Barber Shop!! And let me tell you, he was not happy!! It was a struggle for years for him to get his hair cut. He absolutely hated it!!
IMG_1550.JPG

Can't believe how little he was!!

We had a lunch reservation & were cutting it super close due to the appointment time change so we decided to take a Lyft so we weren't late.
IMG_4033.PNG

The finished products!!

Crazy weather patterns are consistent in Pittsburgh!! I'd take the rain every day over this lousy snow!! But, it's supposed to be in the 60's in a few days again so hopefully it will melt quickly!!
R looks so happy in the last picture after he was all shaved and cleaned up! I used to bring my Dad for a straight razor shave and he was always in his glory getting it done!!!
He was happy & I was happy not to have to hear him complain anymore!!
That's so nice!! I guess there's something to be said for them!!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 15TH

We had taken the Lyft to HS with the plan of hopping on the Skyliner to head to Epcot.
IMG_4036.JPEG

IMG_4038.JPEG

Flying high!!
IMG_4040.JPEG

So, keep in mind that we're really pushing it to be there on time for our reservation then J is told that he doesn't have a park ticket!! So then we had to go to Guest Services/Relations or whatever it is called. As it turns out the problem was that E had renewed his AP prior to this trip & it needed activated. Easy fix but why do they put one through all that?? Why can't it automatically activate when you're shelling out all the dough to renew it?
IMG_4041.JPEG

Fortunately, we were only a few minutes late for lunch!! We were trying something new!!
IMG_4042.JPEG

We were seated right away & were deciding which wine flights we wanted to try.

Appetizers.....

Entrees......

The rolls were brought out quickly. They were very good!!

Definitely a cool experience!
Yes, it was & it was neat to be able to watch!! I will say though--it's an expensive one!! Prices must have gone up quite a bit since I bought that gift card b/c it nowhere near covered it!!
I’m glad they had fun at Art of Shaving.

The idea of a straight t razor shave on one’s face really freaks me out. It seems so dangerous.
It was neat. My BIL is going to be there in July & they got him to join them also!!

I couldn't agree more!! I know the damage I can do with a disposable razor to my legs!! 🤣 I can't even imagine something like that!!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 15TH

We started out with the Tagliere(fancy name for charcuterie board, I guess??)
IMG_4049.JPEG

J trying to swipe some of E's wine flight :jawdrop:
IMG_4050.JPEG

R & E both got the Under A Tuscan Sun flight while I got the From The Hills of Piemonte. We were all very pleased with our selections!!
IMG_4051.JPEG

For our lunch selections J got chicken tenders & green beans. I got spaghetti.
IMG_4052.JPEG

E got a caesar salad with shrimp & R got lasagna. We all thought the food was excellent!! E liked it so much that she wanted to get reservations there again next month. R said it was the best piece of lasagna that he has ever had. We have a friend who works at Olive Garden. R was telling him how good this lasagna was & how Olive Garden's doesn't compare. But R still goes ahead & orders the lasagna. Our friend brings it out to him & says, "Here's your subpar lasagna!!"
IMG_4053.JPEG

I thought this was very interesting!!
IMG_4054.JPEG

J ordered a cappuccino for dessert.
IMG_4055.JPEG

R got the tiramisu for dessert. I am not a fan of Italian desserts so I passed on getting anything.
IMG_4056.JPEG

E got a cappuccino also.
IMG_4057.JPEG

We all enjoyed our meals a ton!! I would definitely go back there sooner than later!! Everything was excellent & the service was great!!

IMG_4061.JPEG

Blurry ride photo!!
IMG_4062.JPEG

IMG_4063.JPEG

Festival of the Arts was going on. Do you know what that line is for in the distance?
IMG_4064.JPEG

WS was pretty crowded.
IMG_4065.JPEG

IMG_4066.JPEG

I was finally getting my chance to ride Remy!! Remember I had boarding groups a few times in the past but never got to ride it. I should have kept it that way. Wow--holy motion sickness in the beginning!! Everyone else was fine with it except me which is weird b/c I'm usually the one who doesn't get sick.
IMG_4067.JPEG

Blurry photo from inside the ride. The picture looks like I felt at that point!!

IMG_4078.JPEG

After our beverages we headed over to FEA.
IMG_4081.JPEG

Check out some of these characters in this photo!! I have a few things I could say but I'll leave that to @amjt660!! His commentary will definitely be better than mine!!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 15TH

We stopped in a somewhat different spot for a PP pic. I now realize that we had to have stopped for pics before we went on FEA b/c E still has her beer from R&C--unless she got another one along the way??;)
IMG_4097.JPG

IMG_4098.JPG

Yes, the park was crowded but here's really where all the action was at Epcot that day--the Figment PCB had just come out!!
IMG_4082.JPEG

We'll head to Soarin' instead!!
IMG_4083.JPEG

That's a much shorter wait than what it was for our purple pal!!
IMG_4085.JPEG

As was this!!
IMG_4086.JPEG

IMG_4088.JPEG

Giving E's love for PCB's what do you think her reaction would have been if I told her I was getting in line for one??:hilarious::p
IMG_4089.JPEG

One last ride on our way out.

See ya SSE!!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 15TH

E took J back to their room so he could get a shower. R & I stopped at one of my favorite places to get one of his favorite drinks!!
IMG_4095.JPEG

Then it was time for another favorite place!!
IMG_4101.JPEG

J got the 50th drink!!
IMG_4102.JPEG

I wanted to get a better pic of Minnie!! That's E's chocolate martini in the background!!
IMG_4103.JPEG

IMG_4104.JPEG

We went with the Loaded Potato Puffs(of course) & the Boudin Balls. It looks like someone also made a run to The Riverside Mill!!
IMG_4105.JPEG

So, naturally we were there to see Bob's show--along with the rest of the bar. Close to 8:30 our server told us that at the last minute Bob couldn't make it & they were looking for a replacement for him. The whole thing didn't make sense. They never did get a replacement either. My guess is that he got sick but they didn't want to come out & say it--esp if it was a last minute thing. Who knows? He sends out an email once a month of what days he's going to be playing where & I know he was definitely supposed to be at POR than night. B/C it was such a big crowd I'm sure they also didn't want to say too early that he wasn't going to be there b/c a lot would have probably left!! We were disappointed but happy that we at least got to see him for a little while the evening before.
