Hoop Dee Doo?

Did the backyard BBQ not sell well prior to closing? It seems like something they could easily bring back in another location/form if it sold well.
I think it was a combination of that and them wanting to use the space for the since abandoned DVC property they were building back there. It obviously wasn’t selling enough that they thought it would be worthwhile to relocate.

I guess my question/thought was maybe they would have brought back (or something similar) as part of Reflections. I was under the impression that it did well enough and the reason it was closed/demolished was for the land for the new resort. It seems like an easy enough concept they could re-add in Ft Wilderness somewhere or at Wilderness Lodge if they wanted.

It was not planned to return and nothing similar was planned for reflections. Who knows what might happen now.

Well, hopefully the Hoop Dee Doo will be back by December. If cast members are vaccinated, there shouldn't be a problem. What is the time frame for them to get vaccinated?

Anyone have any updates on what's going on with Hoop Dee Doo?
The show won’t return until social distancing is no longer necessary, is what I was told. It can’t really be restaged without the partner dancing and audience interaction like some other shows on property have.

Most of the cast has been called back and is temporarily performing other roles on property (Dapper Dans, Frozen, Lion King, etc.).

Social distancing? Did you see the pics from Oct. 1 in the parks?
I'm talking about onstage, not in the audience. Have you noticed that in all of the live shows currently running, the cast doesn't touch or go near each other? Belle and the Beast aren't even embracing at the end of the show right now- it looks super tacky and corny, but for whatever reason, Disney still won't let their casts near each other.

Is there not a blanket vaccine mandate with no exemptions for shows? People are back to making out on Moulin Rouge on Broadway.

I appreciate their diligence with masks, but in general the places WDW is and isn’t imposing Covid safety measures feels entirely arbitrary. It truly is safety theatre.

There is, but for whatever reason, Disney hasn’t returned to their normal stagings yet. All of their live shows are still staged with social distancing in effect.

I don’t disagree. We were packed shoulder to shoulder on Main Street Friday night for Enchantment with no masks, but when I went to ride Space Mountain, with no one on either side of me, I had to wear a mask. It makes no sense (and I’m not anti-mask, but let’s use some common sense).

I presume it’s the optics then. “Set a good example.”

The difference, generally, is that people seeing Beauty and the Beast at DHS paid admission to DHS. But people at Moulin Rouge on Broadway paid to be at Moulin Rouge.

There’s a greater incentive for a Broadway Show to strive for the complete product, because on Broadway your show IS the complete product, not just one piece of it like Beauty and the Beast.

I’ll admit, the trouble at Aladdin on Broadway this week rattled me a little. If ANYONE has access to all the resources needed to make their show work on Broadway right now it’s Disney . . .

Yeah…I was shocked at that. And case rates are pretty low up here.
