Ok what did I do wrong? I made reservations though my DVC for our dinning on wed for our trip (sept 19- 26th) I tried to make reservations for Hoop Dee Doo for sept. 24th (which was over 180-today is 180 to sept. 24) they said they could book 2 tables for our party of 8 but she was going to transfer me over to group reservations to try to get one table. well they told me nope i have to call back today. Oh when i called wed they told me that it was almost booked solid for the 24th. so i call back today....sold out...firsth thing this morning.....where did i go wrong? i called one number they tell me they can not book 2 tables for a party of 8 i have to talk to group reservations. they tell me no tables open for that amount of people but they wont split us up cause she said they cant. i dont understand if you can not book further out than 180 days how can it be booked a few minutes after the lines open up at 180 days?

I totally understand your problem. I would call group dinning and see what they can do. If they can't do anything, I would ask for the direct phone number for the ticket office at Hoop Dee Doo.
When I called just regular dinning she told me there wasn't anything she could do for me because I wanted to add one more person to our exsiting reservations. She was trying to tell me that she could make a reservation for 1, and I was like well that's not going to help me at all (but we have a HUGE group of 23) So she told me that I was going to have to call group dinning, gave me the number and I called them and the lady helped me understood what I was talking about and had it taken care of.
Like I said try group dinning and then call the ticket place for hoop dee doo, usually the second person you talk to can help you out more. Also say you are willing to do 2 groups of 4, that might help you out too.
Good luck!!!

Resort guests can book all their dining reservations for their whole stay starting from the first day they have resort reservations. So, for your Hoop Dee Doo, others dining reservation day would have been from their first resort day at 180 days---meaning, they could have booked a week or two ahead of you, based on their first day in the resort and their length of stay.

I found this out when I was calling day by day to get our dining reservations for August. On the third day, the lady told me she could book all the reservations for the week because for us it was 90 days advance for the places we are eating---so it wound up in reality being more than 90 days for some of the places. AND the 90 days were based on the FIRST day we have reservations at the resort.

I hope what I am trying to say makes sense. I would keep calling and calling. Also, if they won't cooperate with you, make half the reservations under your name and half under your spouses name. You can call two different times. Surely all the three shows for one night on a date so far away can't be booked up yet. I agree with the person who posted earlier. Then when you get to the podium, ask the Hoop Dee Do staff to place the two parties near each other. We had to do that last summer at a few places we ate.

Good luck! I hope I have not confused you more.

If memory serves, Hoop De Doo is the only reservation that can be made 2 years in advance. But I agree in that you should first try to make 2 4-seat reservations, then either try to change it to an 8, OR just ask if the tables can be close together when you arrive.

EDIT: According to allearsnet, there's a 180-day window. If it used to be a 2=year window, it ain't no more, and I could've been wrong all along.

you are correct it is 180 since they told me they could not take my reservation last week when i called. but we are arriving the 19th of sept. so if i could have made my reservations from the date we check in i could have made them for Hoop Dee Doo if i did not have 8 in our party but since i had to be transfered to group reservations they would not book me.
