The show hasnt changed much, some of the songs have changed and some of the faces have. Still a lot of fun, corny jokes and routines and they come down to interact with the guests around the tables. Your family will still enjoy the show... its still worth the money to take in a show even after a 20 year gap. And dont worry, you will get plenty to eat. I enjoy the food there.

Do they do audience participation at this at all? Or do they just sort of do their thing out in the crowd, then head back to the stage? I don't think my group is really into getting up and joining the show, if you know what I mean.

They do a few things with audience participation at every show. :)

Always wanted to go..... Can never get a ressie........checking in 10/9....any suggestions?

Update: just looked 10/9 - 10/12 also and they had availability every day at the 4pm showing. Don't know why yo are not finding anything?

Did you try calling? Or did you try on the actual website not the App as HDD usually only lets you book on the website itself. They have openings the last I checked for 3rd catagory seating most days for most all 3 daily shows (mostly at the earlier shows for sure) on 10/13-10/26. Don't know if that helps you or not. We are in Catagory 1 @ an 8:30pm show (booked right at 180+10 )and was looking to move it at one point a week or so ago but decided not to b/c all I saw was Cat 3 left for every days 3 shows those 2 weeks. :)

Pioneering the Universe Within!
Touchy subject for me. (@wm49rs understands lol).

The show HAS in fact had several, overall small, changes to it, the most significant occurring in 2009 when the opening number was changed. There was a bit of an uproar at the time, but now most people don't even remember the old number (Hoop Dee Doo Polka). There's also a segment of Clementine now that throws in some Frozen jokes that are designed to appear to be ad-libbed by Six Bits. One performer does that significantly better than the other one (whole, other subject).

Hi, I have res for Dec 15 at 8:30. I paid for this with my dinner plan, I know we cannot get cat 1, but do we have the same meals/drinks?

Thanks!

A lot of folks don't know this but, You can indeed get Catagory 1 @ all the 8:30pm shows with the dining plan. The other two show times no but you definately can get Cat 1 with the dining plan @ 8:30. We always have the dining plan and get Cat 1 @ the 8:30pm showing including in a few weeks. Too bad you did not know that! Try calling and see if you can switch if you wanted Cat 1 if it's still available. But yeah food and everything is the same dining plan or not as with most any restaurant on property. :)

I just tried it for the first time last week and I loved it. The show was just the right mix of funny and cheesy. The food was delicious and plentiful. I got to play the washboard at the end!

We went on our last trip and I thought it was pretty fun. I'm not a big BBQ person- despite being from the south- so I didn't care much for the food, but my husband and girls loved it and the show. We had to leave early due to me getting a migraine, but from what we got to experience, we thought it was a good time. You can go back for as much food as you like, and the kids had a blast dancing with the characters and stuff.

I last saw Hoop Dee Doo in Dallas 2 years ago. Different food so can't comment on that aspect. Same show, and the show is still great. Same characters, same lines (for the most part), same unique delivery of said lines.
