I thought I could bring this thread back to life! :D

Here are some recent sunsets at the Port of Progreso, on the Gulf of México. :animwink: The pier is 6 kms long which makes it the longest in the world I think... It´s that long because the continental platform is too shallow here.

I took the previous ones with the little zoom my camera has, so that´s why they are a little bit blurry. Here is another one taken without the zoom, right after the sunset yesterday...

Thanks guys! Here is one more. It´s one of the houses in the boulevard, it´s called "the snail" because of its shape... It´s from the beginning of last century.

Another house...this one is called "the cake" because of the decorations on top. :animwink: It´s right in front of the previous one.

Here is a map of my area. I´m in the Peninsula of Yucatan in Mexico, just below Florida across the Gulf of Mexico. I live in Mérida, the capital city of the State of Yucatan. :animwink:

My hometown isn't too entertaining. We usually have a hard time finding stuff to do. But I do think some parts of the town are really pretty!! I'm not doing to good on finding picures of the town on-line. But one of the must-sees here are the murals on the flood wall. The guy that did them has done murals in New Orleans. :) If interested, here's the site for more on our murals:

Anyone seen/heard about the movie "Mothman Prophacies"??? Well, the town that the movie is based on is close to here.

wow, that would be nice to be so close to the ocean & such a beautiful area... we're landlocked here, though not too far from the Rocky Mountains!
