Hollywood Studios Park Wide Changes Incoming?

Oh, come now, how much harm can come about by being caught in the crossfire of a gun fight?
Lol, it was the Alien and the resolution to the Indiana Jones scene that got me.

My 'scary' experiences at Disney probably weren't in the norm anyways. I remember curling up in the (very little) floor space on Pirates.

Did it ever really resemble her? Or have the past 27 years been really, really hard on her? (the AA, not Sigourney- she looks great in real life)
Not really, just a slight resemblance. Absolutely never their best AA effort. actually if they reduced the shiny skin just a tad she would be less plastic looking even if they are trying to simulate sweat. They failed at that task if that was the motive.

Wait a second... are you saying the real Sigourney Weaver doesn't snap her head to the right like hitting a low brick wall with a two-by-four and having it snap back up and smash you in the face?

To be honest, I don't think she is an AA. There's so little movement that I would just call her an animated figure. What always cracked me up was how squat the figure was, when the real Weaver is famous for being tall and lean. I have actually wondered if maybe they didn't secure Weaver's likeness rights and so they created something that was recognizable as the character in context but not really supposed to be Weaver herself.

"You are with Sigourney Weaver..."

Are you in the target audience?

Disney Jr is great for what it is, has great appeal for its target audience and (to Disney's credit) is regularly updated with new characters to reflect what is current. It uses a relatively small footprint. Sure, it's not anything special, but there are far more pressing things that can and should be addressed in DHS before this would be considered.

To me the entire Animation Courtyard should go under the knife for another new land when SWL opens and Launch Bay closes. Maybe this time with more than just 2 rides.

Well, the old Animation building (not just Launch Bay but the offices) should close down and be demolished at least and then have that space build up and connect to the RNR area. I don't think there is anything intrinsically wrong with VOTLM or Disney Jr (though the former would benefit from a new show) that needs to have them torn down. If you remove Animation, there's plenty of space to work with.

Edit: Of note, Disney Jr is part of the same building as the Brown Derby and I don't think that restaurant should be removed so there would be some limitations with that space anyway.

Agreed. The concept is irrelevant for a non-studios park, won't be required to support SW once SWL is open, and the building as it stands seems near impossible to re-use as a people eating attraction. Being so close to TT & RNR, it's removal would open another potential path to Sunset Blvd, with ample room for an attraction(s) & dining options. But alas, that's just AI (Armchair Imagineering).

Wish they never got rid of the Animation attraction, two things are missing now since TMODA is no more, characters that actually autograph(if kids have books, but they're replaced by just 2 major M&G experiences with some roaming ones too)(that Nick and Judy could had been meeting there, instead of everyone whinning about that you can't meet them at WDW) and Animation Academy drawing classes(but it's just a display of SW props and costumes)

If they're really trying to change the studio aspect of the park they'd get rid of these two huge soundstage looking buildings and do something better with the area. Maybe that Fantasyland type area for the park I've been wanting with plenty of dark rides that TSL so clearly is not.

It's easy to dress up the outside of a building if they wanted to, in order to reflect a different theme. That's much cheaper than tearing down a building a rebuilding. If they replace the VOTLM show (as has been long rumored, I think something Tangled related has been the latest scuttlebutt), then it's a great opportunity to work on the outside of the building as well.

I'm all for an area with multiple smaller scale rides -- but there's plenty of room to do that without removing the the two shows. If they take out the whole Animation Bldg complex, they have room there to add more attractions and connect to the RNR area while still retaining the VOTLM/Disney Jr show buildings. One of the huge problem with Disney in recent years is too much replacing attractions which results in just "running in place" with capacity rather than proper additions to existing things.

The park is desperate for additional attractions and that will continue to be true after the paltry 4 new rides we are getting in all that space for TS and SW.

While they are at it, they really should add a daytime show to the Fantasmic theater as well as something permanent to the "flex" theater they built.
