I am creating a design that will encompass all four parks and the monorail, similar to the Four Parks One World logo http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/14/Four_parks_One_World_WDW_2008_OA_Front_Cover_Scanned.jpg only better and without Mickey. My problem is HS. Obviously MK will have the castle as the 'mascot', AK the tree of life, and Epcot SSE. In the image about they use the hat as the mascot for HS, and me not being a huge fan of the hat, would like to use something else. The only other thing that stands out, so to speak, is ToT and I dont think that would look right either. What was the mascot when it was MGM? Im open to suggestions here, Im really drawing a blank

Not old, just vintage.

Prior to using the Hat as the icon it was the Earful Tower. Much better than the BAH in my and many other peoples') opinion.

Is the Earful Tower the same one that is on the backlot tour now? 2008 was the first time I had been to HS since the change, and I dont remember much from when it was MGM so forgive the ignorance!

Thanks for the input everyone, great idea(s) keep 'em coming :sohappy:

The Earfful Tower was the icon for marketing purposes prior to the Hat.

The Chinese Theater is the central "weenie" at the park, similar to Tree of Life or Cinderella Castle.

Both have been used as the park icon for different purposes.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Yeah, you've got three candidates: The Earful Tower, the Hat, or the Theatre. None are clear winners, but the Hat seems to be "official" icon.

I've always seen the Chinese Theater as the better icon, and the Earful Tower as the better marketing symbol. Perhaps you could create a joint icon for DHS, with the Chinese Theater in front, and the Earful Tower seen behind it and to the side... over the shoulder, so to speak?

Not the best picture, but do you mean something like this?

Yes! I always thought that logo perfectly embodies the Studios. :sohappy: The two symbols sort of work jointly to symbolize the two halves of the park - the romanticized, old-fashioned Hollywood, and the behind-the-scenes backlot.
