Holidays at the Magic Kingdom 2015

It would be more than just the dragon float. I'm pretty sure you'd have to cut the dragon, Peter Pan, tangled, and the final two floats. My vote would be for having FOF go dark for the season and run a daily Christmas parade in its place.

If Once Upon a Christmas Time Parade was anywhere as entertaining as FOF, I would say yes to this. But honestly, the new decorations have grown on me. At least they replaced the Mainstreet garland with something.

Ok Peter, interesting picture that is inconsistent with my experiences..... But you are convinced there have been no cut backs in holiday decor at Epcot aside from lights of Winter. You are clearly in the minority there, and the point really is that Epcot is very lack luster in its holiday decor. It is minimalist at best. A few garlands, landscaping using poinsettias and smattering of trees is just not cutting it.

I won't disagree that Epcot could use more decor. I would appreciate more for sure.

The majority of people here are convinced there have been large cutbacks at the park. I may be in the minority but the majority has yet to show where these cutbacks were. People can say there have been cutbacks but useless they can point to specific examples they're just complaining to complain. Just because people say it over and over again doesn't make it true. As time goes by memories and reality grow further apart.

I would love to see pictures of Epcot with additional decor. But since nobody can provide any and I haven't seen any at the park in 20+ years, I have to assume it never existed. Just like you remember te peace garden existing after lights of winter, sometimes are memories play tricks on us.

I saw everything Thursday night, and it looked amazing! I've been on three or four trips where the castle lights were up on the castle, but not lit yet; it was very gratifying to finally see everything lit up! The turrets looked great, the new hub made everything surprisingly easy to see.

The Jingle Cruise was operating (?) as well. The sign was changed, there were Christmas lights in the queue, and there were presents in 3 (I think) scenes. I didn't notice any script changes, but I was in back by the engine and it was a little hard to hear. Is there more to come?

There are some changes to the script, but it generally takes a week or two before the whole cast is trained on them and every boat gets the revised script. For the first week or so it's luck of the draw which version of the "show" you get.

I'm fairly certain that the reason for the confusion over those glowing orbs is that they were moved. As of a few years ago, they were at the park entrance. I have a picture in front of them in 2011.

I'm well aware of what Disneyland does for the holidays. And I wish they would bring back the train display from the studios. But my question is really specific to Epcot. Everyone on here always complains about Epcots decor being reduced. Other than the lights of winter I don't know of anything that has been removed from the park. I admit that I didn't visit the park during the holidays in the 80's, but at least for the past 20+ years I've seen largely the same things decorated each year with the only reduction being LOW. Id love to see pics of the missing decor but for now I feel like this is just a case of people remembering things being far better than they ever really were.

I agree with this. I was there last year at around this time (at Epcot) and was really surprised at how good the park looked decorated for Christmas. Lots of things stood out and then I saw the complaints on here and didn't understand it. I miss Lights of Winter too but the park still looked pretty good to me. It looked classy. Do people want tacky? If it's overdone people will complain (example: Jingle Cruise).

Personally I like a lot of the decorations Paris throws out for their holidays and would like to see the MK get a bit better in terms of decorating other lands for Christmas and Halloween.

I said other than those items. Obviously the lights of winter are a huge loss. I miss them. But everyone acts like Future World and World Showcase used to have so much more decor. And besides the Lights of Winter, that doesn't seem to be true.

Because the 'big item' is gone, with a lame reason why (IMO, personally they can't just upgrade the lights? Really? This company?) so the mantra has become "bad bad bad". I swear I remember someone posting that something was missing at Epcot when it wasn't in terms of decoration.

(Edit: it was the orbs mentioned above, I believe)

I'm not the biggest fan of the new wreaths down Main Street. To be honest, I barely noticed them when I was there last year. I'd prefer the garlands but I'm sort of over those as well. I know we get attached to things but replacements aren't always bad. I don't like the wreaths because they aren't the nicest looking, not because of what it replaced. I mean, the park COULD suspend FoF for two months and run the Christmas parade but then they'd have no upcharge party.

And they'd be running the Christmas parade 11/4 thru about 1/15. Could you imagine? Over pretty (and pretty old) garland. And, as you say, no party that makes $1,500,000 a night.

That was my other idea. I thought it was just the dragon that caused the issues.

With both Frozen Holiday Wish performances before Wishes tonight, the Castle Dreamlights are back in Wishes' finale! Nothing like Wishes in Nov and Dec! :)

While I love Festival of Fantasy, I would love even more if we got a Christmas parade/fireworks outside of the parties during November and December. Ten days at the end of December just doesn't cut it, imo. I know its far fetched and illogical, but it'd be cool if Disney had Holiday Wishes/Once Upon a Christmastime for MVMCP and then another set of Christmas themed spectaculars for non-party days.
That was always my thought. Let December me full blast Christmas with Wishes being replaced with Christmas fireworks and let a Christmas parade run alongside FoF. Just make the normal park events and party events totally different. Then people can still feel like they are getting that unique party experience they paid for.

Having a Christmas parade and fireworks for the full holiday season takes away two of the biggest reasons people purchase $75 tickets to Very Merry.

It'll never happen.

No. In fact I could more easily see Disneyland moving its holiday entertainment to an up charge party now that it has a Halloween party.

THIS is the tree that MK should have!

I love HK's tree, well the lighting at least. I think it's a bit too thin to be that extravagant, but I would love to see a similar display on MK's tree. And I mean, with Spectacle of Dancing Lights ending this year it wouldn't hurt to have a new light show similar to this on property.

The HK tree is beautiful. However, I still prefer the one from Paris. It is bigger (or it looks like it) and not so charged with lights.

the ceremony is also quite nice although this year they have changed it.

I hope they upgrade the one from the Magic Kingdom too :)

The one from paris is my favorite! Pictures literally can't do it justice!
