Am I the only person who gets really annoyed when Christmas stuff goes up before Thanksgiving? I can't stand it.

Agreed. Don't care for it. Love Disney, Love Christmas, but don't need to combine them, especially not in EARLY NOv.
Decorations are ok, but save the BGM for after Thanksgiving.
Again, just my personal preference. :lookaroun

Thats a good compromise; I agree.

EDIT: Something I noticed & can't remember now. Was there ever any garland strung across the buildings on Hollywood Boulevard?

Yes there was. However, with the introduction of Block Party Bash, the garland had to be substituted for the stars on the lamposts so the floats could pass safely underneath.

Yay! :sohappy: Everything looks great, just like I remember it. I love the red, blue, and green lights they use throughout the park, it fits so nicely. Can't wait to see the Osbourne Lights! ^_^

And for the record, I'm not one of those people who likes to wait until after Thanksgiving for Christmas stuff. If I could, I would have Christmas stuff up all year long :D

I agree. We're putting up our decorations next Wednesday. All this "Turkey Before Tree" business is nonsense. Thanksgiving is not something you celebrate in the same regard as Christmas. Moreover, Christmas decorations and music are generally gorgeous, while Thanksgiving revolves around Pilgrims, a turkey, and the color brown. Not exactly something that makes people crazy about decorating and celebrating. I say let the 'free market' decide; until Thanksgiving proponents get their acts together and come up with some stellar decorations and music, Christmas wins.

It is not that long until Christmas, and I think it's fine to start celebrating early.

That's fair enough. Tune in to DISradio.. my friend found it on iTunes. Plays music from all around the parks. Splash Mountain background music included!

Thank you for a most excellent find! I'm always looking for something to listen to while at work. This is PERFECT!

It is so beautiful!...I am so ready to put up my tree...I think in the next 2 weeks it will be going up..:D
As soon as I can brave the attic, mine is going up!

I just did all my shopping today too, so now I can just enjoy the season. :xmas: (I brag about finishing early every year, but really my family only gives gifts to the kids and I've only got three nephews... my shopping is a breeze  Sounds like a bummer but we have one heck of a party, I love it.)

You sir are one devoted holiday fanatic. We usualy wait till the day after thanksgiving to do our tree and decorations ... I might have to change up the tradition this year and give it a try.

We used to put up our tree either on Thanksgiving or the day before, but for the past four years or so we've put it up earlier. I think my mom said she wants to put it up in 2 weeks, maybe sooner :D

if disney waited untill Thanksgiving to put up christmas stuff then the decorations would not be done by dec 1

if disney waited until Thanksgiving to put up Christmas stuff then the merchandise sales would not meet budget projections by dec 31.

:lookaroun

But I have no problem with it. The Christmas decorations are beautiful. Too bad they are all put away when we arrive for Marathon weekend in early January.

I had to run over to the Studios today to take care of something, saw the tree and heard the music. Definitely took me by surprise as I was not expecting it at all! I'm not a big fan of celebrating Christmas so early (especially here when it's in the high 80's), but the entrance area looked very festive. :)

We went last year for Christmas. Everything was so beautiful and I had always wanted to go at that time. The only thing we didn't care for was the shortened hours. We like to go go go and with the short hours we just had too much down time. It was too chilly to swim and we did go and look at other resorts. But it was worth it just to see all the decorations.

I like my decorations up after T-giving as well. And I think they should start playing Christmas music on Black Friday. That is a perfect time to start. We get a real tree so we put it up on my b-day which is Dec 18th and take it down after New Years. We used to have an artificial tree but the dogs chased the cat up into it and tried to follow him and they ended up breaking it.

Yeah, I'm starting next week too. I go all-out for Christmas, and it takes two weeks to decorate my house.

Disney works on Christmas decorations all year, and puts them up within a week. Watching them assemble the trees on-site is quite impressive.

Aaaaaaaand the...

Cat got dead, so we put it in a box,
Dug a little hole, and we covered it with rocks;
Picked a couple dandelions, said a little prayer,
Then we all went back to bed
Because we mostly didn't care!

Sorry. Random Adventurer's Club reference. I had to do it.

Disney Christmas music is superior to the standard mall mix. Tomorrowland, Main Street, Epcot, and 1940s Hollywood versions of yuletide tunes are just as "Disney" to me as hearing the "Hello Dolly" soundtrack playing on Main Street! :p

I wish they would have futuristic Epcot and 1940s versions of Holiday music. Unfortunately DHS and Epcot get the generic variety. Not as cool.

Come on, no Bing Crosby and Andrews Sisters on Sunset Boulevard? Isn't that kind of a "no duh"?
