A sequel to 1993's Hocus Pocus is in development for Disney+ and Workaholics writer and co-producer Jen D'Angelo will be writing the script.

As reported by Collider, Hocus Pocus' stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy have not been attached to the new project as of yet, but "D’Angelo has been tasked with finding a way to bring back the original cast" in some way.

The original followed Midler, Parker, and Najimy who were witches from 1693 in Salem, MA that were resurrected 300 years later. They must learn to live in the 20th century and deal with the fact that Halloween has become a holiday.

Hocus Pocus only earned $39 million worldwide on a $28 million budget, but it has become a beloved film through the years.

In 2012, rumors were abound that Hocus Pocus 2: Rise of the Elderwitch was in development at Disney, but nothing ever went forward with that and there is no word if that title will be used for this sequel.

Just goes to show that even a boxoffice flop can go on and make a profit over the years.

Here's hoping they get some of the original cast involved! Look forward to seeing this if it happens! Disney Plus has made a lot of things possible, that's for sure.

We loved the original and it's become a Halloween must see each year!
Why do they have to mess with a good thing?
I wish the WDC would do something original like they used to. This remaking, redoing, of old films and classics is getting a little old.
I guess it's all about the quick buck now!

You know that they're not recalling and destroying all copies of the original, right?
