Wonder how will the exterior look like

It looks like it is blocking the Adventureland marquee and also incredibly close to the Adventureland marquee. But I am assuming its the distortion of the lens and the perspective of the photo. Will be interesting to also see how the hub comes together.

How the control rooms look in Paris and Shanghai.

Judging from its size, I believe the structure will also house lighting and speaker towers in addition to the projectors.

Walt never liked faux weathering, which is why even DL’s Haunted Mansion is looking mighty fine from the outside, and Galaxy’s Edge is a real stylistic clash. Walt’s way is by no means gospel, but he did have a good argument for it... evoking charm and positivity through representing each area in its golden age. Can you imagine if Main Street was looking weathered?

I personally don’t think Mystic Manor would benefit from weathering but it definitely does look like it underwent a number of renovations over a number of different time periods. The stones on the staircase practically scream new.
The difference there too is that The Haunted Mansion was being built at a time where Amusement Parks still had to fight a reputation for being dirty and run-down. Walt felt the need to actively prove at every turn that the opposite was true in his park - if even his HAUNTED House was pristine, it must be because he REALLY takes care of the place.

These days the reputation of theme parks is established differently in the cultural consciousness, thanks in no small part to Disney's efforts over the years, and they no longer need to prove to guests that visible disrepair isn't evidence of actual neglect. Guests are now far more likely to see rust stains in Galaxy's Edge as evidence of obsessive attention to detail than evidence of poor maintenance.

Though I'll agree with you, such treatments clash HARD with the otherwise established aesthetic of the OG Disneyland.

In terms of Mystic Manor, I personally agree that it looks a little plastic, but whether weathering is the answer or not comes down to time period. Lord Henry Mystic seems to take care of his estate, and we seem to be visiting in its heyday - unlike The Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror, which have supposedly been abandoned for years at the time of our visit. So aging the house isn't necessarily the answer for Mystic Manor, but I think it could have used some character paint or surface treatments that made the structure feel like it was made from more-organic building materials. But then, the ride is itself pretty cartoony, so maybe the slight cartooniness of the exterior was part of the point.

Pleased to see how the castle is coming along - for all the architectural and conceptual quibbles I have with it, it's coming together to create a more striking structure than I would have expected. Lets hope it feels that way from inside the park!

Off topic question, but is the Mystic Point Freight Depot a real stop on the HKDL RR or is it just a fake train station next to a set of real train tracks? I just noticed how close it actually was to the tracks.

Perhaps they planned at one point (or plan in the future) to make it functional, but so far it has just been a fake train station.

They said they couldnt make it a real stop because there was not enough room.

Where is your source? Not questioning, just asking.
Because from what I've heard the existing structure was built for future conversion into a functioning train stop in mind. The park will really need it if they decide to use the pad next to Grizzly Gulch.

And also for story-telling purpose.
According to the Mystic Manor Guided Tour back in June 2017, the CM said that it's how the antiquities are transferred from all around the world to the manor.
after rescuing Albert from giant spiders, henry mystic decided to build mystic manor there.
fun fact is that right across the railroad in mystic point, it is the spider scene from the jungle river cruise

Really interesting that the park’s frozen storage facilities, namely “Frozen Room” is right behind the “frozen land” :)

bluesky unrealistic thinking, as the building location is behind (into) the woods, I would’ve continue the rollercoaster At the back, perhaps even passing through the “frozen room” to tie with the Frozen2 movie where Elsa fell into the cave. The rider would experience another dimension.

I saw it in a video of the lead imagineer talking about the project just last week. I’ll see if I can find it again!

I was disappointed too, because I always hoped it would become a proper trainstation. The location is perfect for a stop and would give mystic point another “ride” to flesh out the land.

Any idea what the new nighttime spectacular will be like? Do you think that it would have less pyro than it’s predecessor?

It will definitely have less (or no) large shell fireworks as the previous firework landing zone has been taken over by Frozen Land.
I believe this is one of the reasons that the castle transformation and Frozen land were coupled in the same development plan : if the Frozen plot was to be used for the park's expansion, the nighttime spectacular would have been severely impacted, hence they upgraded the castle.

The new nighttime spectacular will, for sure, feature much more projections on the castle (on a bigger surface than before) and maybe projections on Main Street, built-in lighting effects in the castle (we have seen pictures where the windows light up and I am sure there are more effects), dancing fountains from the castle moat just like Paris, outdoor light spots and small shell fireworks coming from neighbouring Fantasyland rooftops or the castle itself.
