I don't think the 2 rides are nit gonna live up to expectations for hk....they never had a flume before so this is a brand new major attraction for the park and the coaster is a great mid tier supporting ride. Along with the town, food, massive meet n greet ( that I haven't seen yet )....this land is wonderful imo

I think arendelle is gonna suffer from the fact that while the land is stunning it’s rides weren’t meant to be park headliners, they were meant to fix HK’s wonky fantasyland while quinjet became the parks new headliner. FEA is basically the park’s “Peter pan” while WOSS is the “7DMT” not really a headliner at any park it’s in, just a high quality filler attraction

Now with quinjet still MIA FEA feels massively underwhelming as the crown jewel of this 7 year expansion because it’s carrying a mantle it wasn’t designed for

Honestly, HKDL seems to be Disney's biggest surprise. It went from a pathetic practical knock-off to "let's eventually get up to the Disney standard!"

Attendance is solid with APs fueling that growth, and I'm sure Arendelle will be a success, which will only progress the park further.

If it is, I cannot wait to see what the next step is. A small Downtown Disney plus a headlining E-ticket would then make this resort truly stand on its own. It'll already be very close with this beautiful new land, and then even after that, there's enough room for a new ride in Toy Story Land and an entire land below Grizzly Gulch.

I think it's also a testament that there's nothing wrong with IPs so long as you have high-quality original additions as well, and those IPs are handled with care.

There's a lot to be excited about!
Before they go any further they need to have that AP growth translate into actual high attendance

3 million when it was open like 7 months of the year and basically only to HK citizens is great but until they see 7+ on a normal year there is too many qualifiers to say that the attendees is objectively good

and if that was the case, they really should have just added them to Fantasyland as simple additions that fit in, versus building an epic new land, without an epic new ride.

Or converted the Frozen boat ride into something on the scale of Pirates, or something.

This is a better middle ground, you get both a beautiful amazingly themed land and also fix the problems of fantasyland in one go, sure we could argue they should have made 2 e tickets alongside the land itself but HK isn’t made of money

By the time quinjet fell through FEA was too far along considering it’s show building is part of the design of the lands backdrop so basically now we just have to hope something gets off the ground to fill that mega e ticket spot

got the chance to experience both rides last month, and i would say sliding sleighs is nothing similar to SDMT. there’s no indoor show scene, just sven and olaf on a treadmill (looks cute tho), and olaf’s voice only appears on the 10 second lift hill… still i quite enjoy this well themed coaster but just it feels really short, like within 50 seconds from start to end, by the time you start to enjoy it (it’s fun but not thrilling), you are back to the station. people on my round were all shock for the short ride time. yeah so i think locals would be quite disappointed wif the sliding sleighs, especially when the media keep emphasising it’s a THRILLING coaster only exclusive to HKDL

What was your opinion on FEA and the land itself, do you feel the land is cohesive and a worthy addition or do you think it’s going to underwhelm

Your opinion is about what I expected for WOSS, I mean if we took only the part of 7DMT that comes after the show scene people would probably also say it’s pretty disappointing

surprisingly i found myself enjoy FEA more than I expected. I've never been to the one in EPCOT, but from the POV videos on YouTube, i am not really a fan of it. hkdl one is basically the same with no new show scene, but the lighting looks better imo. the boat feels a bit bumpy as it keeps crashing on the side of the canal, not sure if it's intended to do so, but I feel like its a bit unsmooth. my personal feelings is that the boat moves so slow and in between scenes it feels empty and quiet. the audio-animatronics are awesome, but I do expect more in the Let It Go sequence, like some movable physical ice pillars (?), right now are just all projections like EPCOT. the marshmallow and snowgies looks good with the fog effect, somehow it even hides the drop which is quite a surprise. and the drop is way more thrilling than i expected, maybe its taller than EPCOT one idk but its really fun (hkdl's boat got lapbar s tho). the fireworks + castle scene is more spacious and it gives me a great finale spectacular feel. overall, i think hk locals gonna like this one as they probably assume its just a iasw + winnie the pooh type of ride but it got some thrilling element. i expect it gonna be a popular ride in the park for quite some while. meanwhile, people probably gonna complain about WOSS ://

in terms of the land, its beautiful but its really small. Restaurant is small, the gift shop is even smaller. i really appreciate how the imagineers managed to make it looks spacious (the mountain at the back really helps). the only large area is the queue, but theres not much to look at. Those you see from the images and videos, that's all it got and other place are just generic waiting areas. Dun get me wrong, I really like WOF and I think its a cool addition to HKDL, but after waiting for 7 years, I am expecting more than this. WOF is good enough to attract guest visiting HKDL, but i dun think they will come back just for this land.

Yeah it seems like the land really was designed to be an extension of fantasyland and not an actual crown jewel for the expansion and now it’s kinda taking on that mantle when it doesn’t really fit it, I am surprised that you specifically mentioned it’s very small, even knowing how imagineering works the images really make the land look huge

I think if this opened with quinjet at the same time rounding out the park in one shot it would be alot better

It could been bigger but I am in awe just on the scale and height especially with the landmarks. You're basically immersed like your right there in the film. For the desire with me of to see or wish to have this land is for it's exterior appearance and atmosphere. I'm an Epcot World Showcase and Frozen fan so while I love Norway tied with Frozen, I can't help that why we can't get this land footprint as well not in Epcot but in Magic Kindom or Hollywood Studios. Another idea since we have Frozen at Epcot is have this land be a like this but as a resort even if it's expensive for the night.☺️

I think this is quite possibly the most charming land extension imagineering has built in 30 years, with a subtle nod to Baxter’s Fantasy Fare. It’s perfect for HKDL, which is not a Magic Kingdom… it’s a “Disneyland” through and through.

While I get the desire for a major e ticket and the park certainly deserve that, the attraction lineup is very Fantasyland appropriate.

I’m sure Tokyo Disney Seas attraction and land will be more impressive, but certainly not more charming.

HK does get a lot of style points for charm and feeling more like Disneyland than Disneyland but there is an argument to be made that charm doesn’t go far enough

HK’s best years came before Shanghai when it’s full first expansion was open and the park was coming into its own as a “Disneyland”, then Shanghai opened a “magic kingdom” and completely crushed HK despite have an arguably equal lineup, it seems that besides Disneyland itself people prefer magic kingdoms to disneylands

It’s good to see varying viewpoints

I agree the legacy land theming is pretty bad (Adventureland being the one noticeable exception) though I do think you are being a bit generous with Shanghai’s pros, the only land I think is legit well themed at Shanghai is Tomorrowland, Shanghai has easily the most soulless fantasyland and treasure cove/adventure island feel like a wonky fusion of Adventureland and Frontierland that doesn’t suit either, Mickey avenue is also a pretty big joke. And as you pointed out Shanghai truly suffers from the Epcot problem of an enormous park that is relatively empty.

Shanghai’s one Standout is its e ticket attraction lineup which dwarfs HK, I personally like big grizzly but more so because of how much kinetic energy it provides to the land as a whole, even so HK falls away quickly after that, however Shanghai has the opposite problem where if you don’t want to wait 3 hours for pirates then it has almost nothing to do, HK outshines it on auxiliary attractions and shows

Ultimately I think HK desperately needs its e ticket headliner because mystic manor while being absolutely incredible just doesn’t have presence like pirates or FOP or ROTR, Shanghai opened “good enough” while HK didn’t and I think it’s still struggling to get out from under that bad reputation, I agree though that HK won’t stand against the 4 old castle parks without at least 2 more lands and 3 e tickets on top of arendelle and quinjet

Well it certainly looks better than the EPCOT version but does anyone else feel like it still looks kinda flat and kinda old fashioned

The land is gonna struggle if it’s star headliner doesn’t wow
Is it just me who has always been bothered by the trolls watching the Frozen movie on their TV in that scene? I hate it.

i disagree and think treasure cove is one of the best looking lands ever.

Is the Arendelle castle anything more than a facade? Does the Frozen Ever After queue wind through it at all?
