Interesting. I'm not sure why Uber would work any differently for bright line than it does for any other location? When I took it to Fort Lauderdale Ubers were there and waiting as was an electric vehicle. I'm not sure what the electric vehicle was for but basically wasn't eight seater fancy golf cart with doors. They'll both were perfectly viable options I chose just to walk to the Riverwalk area.

The advantage is not having to deal with airline hassles and being able to either sleep or get worked on during the trip rather than actually operate the motor vehicle.

I'm not privy to operating an Uber but maybe the drivers can see this and it pays a lesser rate than they think they can make so it's not worth the time?

Then Brightline shouldn't be taking payment and offering to book ubers when booking the train.

I've also heard Brightline is going to be increasing their order of new passenger car to 30... the plan is to add one car to each train for each of the next 3 years, from 4 to 7 per train.

Public meetings on the Sunshine Corridor are happening this week and in an article from Spectrum News 13, David Cooke, Rail Administration Manager for DOT, made a comment about the Disney Springs area.

Ultimately, the project could connect to the Disney Springs area, though officials say they don’t have word on whether that station would be on or off Disney property.

"At this point, we don’t know exactly the location where we would put it. But it is an opportunity to make that connectivity,” said David Cooke, Rail Administration Manager for DOT. “There’s obviously a lot of Disney workers who look at that as an opportunity to use that line to get to work at some point.”

As a local, the new point of interest is much better suited for everyone. Even for WDW resort guests, you are only a 2-minute drive from the entry arches and 5 minutes from DS. Allows for easier access to US192/Vineland without having to access I4.

If given the right funding, they absolutely could... But Orange County doesn't want to do that. (Either public vote for tax increases, unilaterally doing so, or just giving more money from the budget)...

Universal threw the fit that resulted in this plan and they should be the ones to support it. The jurisdictions involved should have secured a commitment to support at least that leg of service. They even have a brand new CDD that can generate the revenue and finance the service.

Brightline connecting from MCO to DS would be a significant traffic reducer; Disney guests staying onsite and intending to stay onsite most of their visit can take the connector to DS then a Disney bus to their resort.

An added bonus would be Disney can, and should, work with Brightline and MCO to create a new Magical Express, so you’re not lugging your bags onto a train, then a bus. But that probably won’t happen.

Having just got back from speaking down in Hollywood Florida, I will say the current in place high speed connections from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale and Miami are extremely useful. Not having researched it prior, and having a couple other commitments along the NEC, I drove down from NJ stopping in Disney for a couple of days, and then drove down to Hollywood for the lectures. Even without the direct connect to Disney Springs, having that train route provides for some interesting options for split trips between the Parks, and the beaches down further south in Florida.

Off topic, but for anyone looking for a change of pace, I could not recommend enough the Diplomat Resort. Great property, amazing amenities and staff. Worth checking out.

My biggest question was as you mention, taking the connector to DS then bus.

Would folks be lugging their bags off Brightline, on to connector, then off connector on to bus?

If Disney actually cared, they would bring back the free Magical express from the airport.

Oh I agree. Would be a pain for big families. Hence why IF Disney and MCO were smart, they would have a Brightline luggage transfer to resorts. Pipe dream, I know
