high school rumors (______)

Ignore them and hold your head up high. Playing to the rumors and trying to deny them will only make matters worse. I'm sorry you have to go thru this.
Is the guy spreading the rumor to make himself look good?

Two options:

The sane one: Ignore them, they'll go away soon enough.

The insane one: Start an even more unbelievable rumor, something to the effect that the guy is a flaming cross-dresser at night who is waiting to turn 21 so he can get a s-ex change operation in Sweden. You saw him at a wild party making out with another guy (insert one of the evil rumor-mongers or their friends/boyfriends/brothers here), and wanted to convert him back from the dark side.

It might be hard, but the best thing really is to just keep quiet.
It may be tempting to lash out but the last thing you want is to draw more attention to yourself.
The one thing about rumors - without fuel, they burn out.
Don't give them anything else to talk about and the rumor mill will move on.

TAC  That's sooo bad

Since he's trying to put egg on your face...you could always put egg on his car

Sugar in the gastank is always "sweet" revenge :lookaroun

Or...you could always go Bobbit for apples :lookaroun

DISCLAIMER: The above suggestions are only to be taken as a light joke...I don't want to hear about anybody taking these seriously :)

My question is, why do you care about what these other people think? I proclaim my love for Disney World and the internet and people give me strange looks, but I couldn't care less about what they think.

I think you need to try to dispell the rumour. When I was in high school, there was a rumour that this one girl had herpes. She never tried to say she didn't, and to this day, people still think she has herpes. Imagine how I felt when I found out my current boyfriend had been with her once upon a time! Well, I guess she ended up not having herpes after all.

Every guy's worst fear: Castration. *winces*

But seriously, just ignore them. If they're malicious enough to spread this sort of rumor, it's not worth it to waste your breath speaking to them.

Well, if you do have $ex with him, it will dispell any rumors about it.
TOM!!  ( )

My best of luck to you Angie!

You know what is true and what is not...
...those you trust and those who trust you should support you!
Stand strong, refute what is wrong...
...and let those who try to bring you down stay in the dark!!
Don't get gray hairs on us!! :)

I respectfully disagree. People who believe things based on what they hear, with no solid evidence, aren't worth the effort. Most of them are going to believe what they want anyway.

Just go on being yourself and ignore the high school chatter. Believe it or not, it won't be long before 95% of those people who bother you so much will be in your past forever. Life after high school is a LOT easier in that regard, at least. Just hang in there.

Ooooh, now that makes me think of an evil third option....

Same as my original #2, but wait until the first class reunion you attend after graduation to spread rumors!

Me too! And thank goodness h.s. is only 4 years long! (for most people :lookaroun  ) Yeah, I realize it's tough, and kids are getting crueler and crueler, but tough it out. You'll end up the better person for it. :) Plus, if you're anything like me and the majority of the people I went to h.s. with, you'll at most see each other a couple times a year after it's all said and done.

Best of luck *hugs*

Boys in High School tend to tell these stories to their peers in order to impress them (and not necessarily to hurt the reputation of the girl.)

Although this doesn't make you feel any better.

I kinda like dflye's idea #2, although maybe tame it down alittle:
"If I was going to have sax, it wouldn't be with a gay boy !!"

Stories like this remind me of why I am so eager to get out of high school. That and I'm at the point where I can't get a girlfriend in the school. The first reason being that there's about 4 boys for every girl in the school. Then the few that are single either say "It wouldn't work out" or they've talked to my ex. I need a fresh crowd.
