High School Musical 3 to hit the Big Screen ?

Whether it belongs in the news and rumors section or not, the movie is a Walt Disney product and in case you haven't noticed so is WDW. This being a potential bit of NEWS(although now it is considered a RUMOR), I wouldn't have put it anywhere else. If it doesn't belong here, sleep well in you're "lab at Yale" knowing the mods will move it in due time. While you bring many interesting discussion points to this forum, your Ivy League attitude continually shines through. Whether you have worked your a$$ off to get there or simply rode on daddy's coat tails, you're no better than anyone here! Your condescending attitude is starting to annoy me. Generally big words are spoken on the internet by people who are afraid to speak them face to face.
~raises eyebrows~

Daddy doesn't pay anything, but I'm curious what the "big words" you speak of are in my post. Telling someone their post doesn't belong here? I've been here long enough to know that happens all the time. Why? Because the mods have lives and, believe it or not, day jobs. They don't really want to police every thread here so if the frequent posters do a little quality-control, it's better for everyone. Call it a "neighborhood watch program"--I can't arrest anyone, but that doesn't mean I can't keep an eye open.

It really is unfortunate that many have such a poor attitude toward my Ivy League colleagues, though. We are working on curing cancer. Maybe you won't think we are such condescending jerks if a loved one's life with cancer is extended by treatments developed here. Folks who raise their noses at the apparent nose-raisers at Ivy League schools should abstain from enjoying the benefits of some of the world's strongest research institutions.

End rant.

I am truly thankful for your many dedicated hours put into cancer research. I have lost loved ones to cancer and think it is time for an answer. What I don't think should come along with the cost of that cure is having someone constantly looking down there noses at others! I work in the healthcare field and I can promise you while no research is being done on my end, I put in more than my fair share of hours in a lab, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of the very same patients you speak of. I have aspirations of attending medical school in the future and one day hope to work hand in hand with the research and development of cures for many diseases(if only the dang FDA would get outa the way). I didn't mean to come across quite so harsh, and typed before I thought!(I am notorious for that) Please continue the good work, and consider my condescending comments deleted! In future times I will try to think before I type in hopes that others shall do the same!

.............................. High School Musical 4 may be in the works.

Wow, they havent gotten the second one out yet but for a couple of days and they are already starting on a 4th, dang.

Im not a fan, and I dont really hate, but Im going to be real. High School Musical 1 was a good movie(the 2nd I havent seen all the way through, but if its anything like the first it must be good too) It had everything a traditional animated disney film had as far as the whole music numbers and such, and I think it potrayed teens in a not so accurate way but a positive way.

With that said, I think that the actors and such may be getting a lil big headed. I mean they really arent that good. The acting was a little above average the dance steps were poor and easy, and the singing is really below average. So the actors talent aint as big as alot of other local talent is.

Overall I think the movies are overrated, while they were good movies, they arent good enough to have gotten all that they have gotten IMO. Vocally the kids werent good enough to sing and dancing was very mediocre, the acting was decent. But HSM 1 and 2 =overated.

Back on topic;
With all the crap t.v. and all the bullying that we see in schools; I, as a parent, am grateful for shows like HSM and HSM2 that are family orientated and teaching some good lessons about working together and not allowing cliques to rule your world.
Is it saccharine and feel good? Absolutely, but it is entertaining to the kids (the targeted audience) and hopefully in the midst of all that dancing and signing a little bit of the message will permeate some kids.
Every little bit of help parents get is good in my book and if the kids are entertained and Disney makes some money; great. In a lot of ways this is what Disney does best; through entertainment they help communicate what we should be aspiring to be. HSM is just the latest in morality tales that Disney has been able to successfully blend entertainment, values and profit.

Let me toss in some support for HSM and HSM 2. Yes I have seen them a gazillion times, and yes the story line is a little sappy. But so what? It's fun, it's sweet, and it's a musical which was becoming a lost art form on film. I love it. Even the gazallionith time. My daughter and I. Go Disney. Make a bunch of them. I'll bite.

I enjoyed the 1st one and i liked HSM 2 and they have great songs. And if they are going to go and have the whole cast back for HSM 3 and its going to more good songs well its going to be a hit!!!

I grudgingly watched the first, which my daughter loved, and I'll admit I liked. The 2nd one...eh, not so much. We had to turn it off after about 30 minutes. I guess she's not in the target market anymore. So, I'll probably pass on number three til it hits the Disney Channel.

(Although the Haunted High School Musical actually does intrigue me...)

HSM is making bucket loads of money and why not push it just a bit further. I do agree that the storyline should end with the kids going off to college, but as far as putting it on the big screen, I'm a little iffy on that. I think that Disney will get just as much and more publicity if it airs on the Disney Channel. I can see that the big screen version could be a flop but who's to say, remember the Lizzie McGuire Movie and how much that made?

Since this is an expert topic of mine heres my input. The only thing offical about HSM3 is that they are in talks over doing it & that it will NOT be haunted HSM. This includes if it will be made and if it will be on the big screen. It's not 100% offical they are doing it but with all the records being broken I am sure it will happen. As far as how it ties in to WDW the pep rally is going strong at DHS & as far as I have heard is VERY popular. The pep rally at DCA has already been replaced with a new show HSM2: Schools Out with songs from the new movie. This fall the new show will also replace the pep rally at DHS. This is huge & will not be going anywhere soon. As far as the movies I enjoyed both of them but liked the first better because Zac didn't sing his own part.(It was sang by Drew Seeley who replaced him on tour) For those who said Zac is full of himself you are 100% correct I know this for a fact hearing it from a fellow cast member. Besides Zac singing in HSM2 the story was strong & I loved most of the songs. Any other questions about why you will be stuck with HSM for at least a few more years let me know. ;) I also wanted to note there is talk about a big screen Hannah Montana movie so seeing HSM3 on the big screen would be no surprise.

I hope they graduate soon. Ryan and Sharpay are already 22 years old. Pretty soon it'll be like BH 90210, with actors playing kids 10 years younger.

Yeah. But it's most likely to hit the big screen. It is confirmed that they are thinking about doing that, though none of the actors have signed on yet (though I can't see why they wouldn't). I had heard something about Zac Efron not singing all of his songs from the first movie because his voice tenor wasn't what Disney was looking for. But I guess they ended up using his voice this time in for the second film. I have also heard about Hannah Montana could hit the big screen, but anyone remember the That's So Raven movie they planned on making? That never fell through. But I can see them going full steam ahead with HSM 3.

I know they are makin a third but a fourth is a rumor. They said that the 3rd will be them Graduating! IF they grad High School how can there be a High School Musical 4? It is on web sites if you search HSM3 and HSM4.

Not to be a geek or anything, but weren't they sophmores in the first one? And then this one is Summer. So, if I'm right about my first guess, they can have at least 2 more. One where they are Juniors and one when they graduate.

And as far as the kids being old, old people play young people all the time. It is much cheaper to have an 18-25 year old play 15 than it is to have to deal with child laber laws.

I could see them doing a fourth movie if they were to split up the entire school year into two movies. That way HSM 3 can be them returning from summer break, have some conflicts and what not, then HSM 4 would be them resolving everything, and then graduating.

"Monique" is 26 in real life!!!

I know. It's weird how all these young kids are played by much older people. I think the only ones that are age appropriate are Vanessa Hudgens and Corbin Bleu.

I believe they were juniors in the first movie.

Good Job

Gabriella says in the second movie that she is going to stay at East High School until she graduates next year.
Thank you for saving me time from posting that quote. So when they make the third it will be graduation which would prob. make it the last one unless they want to change the title to College Musical.:hammer:
