Who waits in line for a fastpass plus with the ability to do it on your smart phone?

Those who want to get one after they have used their first 3.

LOL very true but the mad rush in the morning is ridiculous. It is no different then the mad rush in the morning to run through the parks to get the old fast pass. It is just a nature of the beast! I can honestly say last year trip was fabulous as I was able to get to the park and not be rushed as I had my rides booked... Then I kept getting more all day long. But not once did i have to fight the stampede like in years past.

I arrive this friday maybe it changed and I will change my opinion but fast pass plus.

And I would be my life if you can not now you will for sure in the future get additional ones off your phones at some point.

I'd bet my life you Will have to pay for that option. Tiered FP+ is a gateway for them being able to charge for more reservations or better ones.

Bet your life? Disney up charges lots of things, but the experiences within the parks have never been in question for that, as far as I'm aware. I'll eat crowning in wrong, but I can't ever see that happening.

I was just quoting that last post that they'd bet their life. I'm snarky so I just repeated the bet and yes disney will find a way to upcharge more featured fast passes. It's a natural progression of the system and a way for them to profit from it. Remember, it's not there to convenience us, it's there to make more money.

Beta Return
On the day after the 2013 D23 Expo I went into DCA and got a Fastpass for Radiator Springs Racers. Then, I flew home to Massachusetts. My wife picked me up at the airport and on the way home my Fastpass window opened (this took into account the three hour time difference as well).

You're really milking the loophole in the rules about being able to come back even after your FP window ends.

Wait a minute... Are u telling me there's a loophole that we can return after our passes that we missed expired and still may have been able to ride!?! I'm a rule follower (which makes the wife upset, she can't understand why i ALWAYS follow the path the parking attendants tell me to take instead of "faking being lost or exiting so I can find a closer spot"), so I have always refused to try to redeem fastpasses for "1:55-2:55" at 2:56...

Visiting the parks as a guest with your family is very different than visiting the parks as the leader of Parks & Resorts. I'm sure the majority of guests there for vacation only don't think about the operation. Don't fault the guy for enthusiasm and interest in his new job.

I don't think anyone is faulting Bob Chapek for visiting the theme parks in Anaheim and Orlando in his first few weeks in his new job. He needs to do that, and obviously these visits were set up as part of his orientation process. I'm sure he had an eye-opening experience in both locations, even if he'd been taking his family to Disneyland for decades.

It's just part of his new job, so it's nothing he should be congratulated for or fawned over for.

What he can do to deserve some instant street cred and admiration is be seen vacationing in the parks without a VIP Tour Guide whisking him and his family up the exit. He already gets his family into the parks for free as a Disney employee. Let's see him at a FP+ kiosk trying to book a Space Mountain time, or waiting in Standby at Haunted Mansion, or watching World of Color in an official-yet-crummy viewing section off to the side, or deciding to go Single Rider and split up his family at Radiator Springs Racers because the Fastpasses were all gone by 10AM.

When we see him do just one of those things, then we'll know that he gets it.

I think it's unrealistic for any exec to walk the park without a guide. I don't see why that should be held against him. He can still "get it" with a tour guide if he's a smart man and a true fan of the parks.
