Hidden Secrets about staying at BC/YC

Hi All,

On our honeymoon, we stayed one night at the GF. And after returning home, I did all sorts of research about the Resort and vowed to stay there again! So in June of 2009 we did - spent 9 days there! In my research I discovered that you can ask for a key from behind the front desk. Those were the original keys. And I asked! And now I have one!! Also, I read about a big cat fish that hangs around the dock there at GF. Also there, I loved watching the GF Ladies wondering around. These were all hidden secrets and surprises that were resort specific.

Next trip, we are staying at BC. And i'm hoping there are some extra special things like they had at GF! Are there any hidden secrets at the BC/YC? Are there any hidden secrets in that area: Resort, Boardwalk, etc.

I have been doing research and one thing stated that I can ask for a scavenger hunt upon check in. Is this just for kids? Has anyone done this?

If you have stayed at BC/YC, please let me know what you liked best, least, and what fun and special things you found at the resort! :) I can't wait to see your responses and hear about your experiences! :)

Thanks!!

We stayed at BC in June and absolutely loved it! The entire resort is beautiful, and the pool is amazing. Beaches and Cream is a must do - although you may be in for a wait to sit down depending on time of year. There's a take-out counter which has many of the items, and the line is usually pretty short.

As for hidden items, the only thing we experienced was the hidden mickey on the globe in the YC lobby. It's worth a trip over to YC to talk to the Captain (who will help you out if you have trouble locating said hidden mickey). We stayed in the villas, and there's a beautiful painting of the resort in the Breezeway that's worth seeing.

The Boardwalk area is beautiful as well, particularly at sunset. Definitely one of our favorite resorts so far!

Thanks! We stayed at YC before but missed the Hidden Mickey. We will have to venture over there and take a look at it. :)

Is there a website devoted solely to BC/YC like there is to Port Orleans and Polynesian I wonder? I've done a quick google search and came up short. I'm not sure where I got all the info on the GF we found but those were some great hidden finds that I am so glad we didn't miss. :)

We stayed at the Yacht Club on our last trip only because one of our first choice was full. It's now one of my favorite resorts. You really can't over-estimate how amazing it is to be able to easily walk to Epcot. It changes everything.
