I hope someone out that may be able to answer a question for me. I have a trip booked in December thru AAA for one of the weeks that they are offering the Free Dining. Problem is my travel agent claims that because I have a proir "code/pin" applied to my reservations, Disney will not let me change to this new "code/pin" . Does anyone out there know if this is true or not? I have called Disney myself, but they can not help me do to the fact that I booked thru AAA. I really would like to "drop" the old code and apply the new one, this new one is a much bigger savings!! And what really bothes me is the fact that I got the Disney Visa Card, just so if they offered the Free Dining , I would quailfy!
HELP!!:(

Pretty sure that you will have to cancel completely and rebook.

The answer is you usually CAN substitute one discount code for another. You definitely cannot use both together. You have to get an agent who is willing to do it though. Also your agent would DEFINITELY have to check to see if your resort is available for your dates FIRST!!!!!!!! Then take off the first discount code set and apply the second. If there is availability at your resort, it should be no issue. Belle

Yep! Our AAA agent put us on a conference call with Disney when we wanted to change our package a few years ago. They were able to do it no problem. He wanted us on the line to make sure everything was changed properly (dates, hotel, etc).

Obviously a good agent who knows what he is doing!!! A conference call isnt a necessity, but again depending on availability, it CAN be done. Best of luck on getting this switched over!!! Belle

We booked our WDW vacation in February of this year through the CAA (The Canadian version of AAA) for Sept 13-20 (we just got back yesterday :(). When the free meal plan came out our agent changed our bookings that day without us even knowing about it. We just got a call one afternoon telling us that are meals were now covered.

Ok I talked to my travel agent today( she was on vacation till now) Now I am really confused. This was her reply to changing the code.

OK --Now I know why the new promotional code will not work on your reservation ....the date you depart (December 13, 2008) does not fall into the dates for the promotion. It would start on December 14, you coming in a day earlier.

I was under the impression that I would get the discount for the other days ( 14th-20th) and pay for the 13th. Unless I have this all wrong?? Help.....:brick:

You would have to have two separate reservations.

Ask your agent to book you room-only for the 13th and a second reservation with free dining starting the 14th. You will then either have to avoid the parks the day you arrive [you can still shop at DTD that day/evening or just hang around your resort] or buy a one-day admission for that day. Given what you'll save on dining costs with free dining a one-day admission still has you ahead of the game.

I am in the same boat. I booked using the package/resort discount code for 12/13 to 12/17. Then the following week got an e-mail from Disney for the free dining. We had already booked our air so I checked with my travel agent and she said the same thing, that the promo started on the 14th...

The price we got was still very good and I work for AAA and one of our benefits is receiving the commision price off of your trips so I don't feel like we missed out on too much. I can't wait for Christmas in WDW. :xmas:

This sounds vaguely familiar!!!! :ROFLOL::ROFLOL::wave: Monty is absolutely correct. Take into account that there may be a chance that you would have to switch rooms and you will definitely need to go down and re-check in on the day the package would start. Usually if a guest has a continuing reservation, every effort is made to keep them in the same room for all parts of the trip, but it isnt guaranteed. As far as applying the discount to the other days, yes that can be done, assuming availability at you resort for your travel dates. Belle
