So i know you all work in inches but what is the smallest ride height (or highest restriction?!?), in feet and inches or meters?

My girlfriend is about 5'2 or 5'1, is she ok?

I'm 5'3" & I have no problems.
I posted a link to the height restrictions list a few posts back.

Meters? Struggling to remember highschool and metric system...argh.

I would have to say that 61 or 62 inches is plenty tall for riding the attractions.

I wonder when we will change the Daytona 500 to the Daytona 633.725 (or whatever 500 miles is in Kilometers). Has a certain ring to it don't you think?

We had metric imposed on us here but all the old school (over 35s) still work old school!

Actually she tells me she's 4'11 now (shrinking!?) do y'all still think she'll be ok? I mean to get on all the rides or just some...?

(i wouldn't bother you all but i can't find any decent converters on the net!)

4' 11" = 59 inches.....she should be OK. My 9 y/o is almost that tall & we've never had a problem with her on any ride.(height wise, that is. )

Thanks sooooooooo much tigsmom, you have been invaluable, had a bit of a panic that she'd never be able to go ToT or Mission:Space!

Found a conversion that says shes 49 inches at the lowest, phew and thanks again!

It helped he was a cowboy for Halloween, but you can find shoes for $2 or $3 at thriftstores that will boost height. Last year when he was 3 we found some Pooh sandals that had super thick support, so again he was able to ride Big Thunder and his favorite ride now Splash Mtn. Now that he is 4, we are working our way to Space MTN, Mission Space.. Hey your daughter can also ride 40 height rides : Test Track and Dinosaur and Kali River Rapids. My boy wants to ride that stupid carnival dino rollercoaster so bad, but it is 52 height the tallest restricition in all of WDW. Thought it was a dumb move on Disney's part to make it look so kid friendly and then have such a crazy height restriction, you can send a kid on scary Dinosaur but not this little coaster? Go figure?

If the height restrictions were based SOLELY on leg length, that would be fine. However, the restraints are based on proportions within the normal variables, ie, someone with say, 25 inch legs, would be expected to have a proportionate torso length. By thwarting the system (by 5 inches!) you put your child at risk for the restraints not protecting him.

I agree with the PW restrictions. My 10 year old insisted upon sitting by himself in the car. (It holds 4... 2 in each seat section) He was bounced all over the seat, and I had a hard time trying to grab him. It really did look like he was going to fly out at one point; he was terrified.

All the variation must be from the humidity  Remember, September is only 8 months away. What would 8 months be in Metric?:hammer:

They don't spin, of course, but the wild mouse coaster at DCA is 42" and the one at Paramount's Great America is 44". 52" would seem to be rediculous.

I thought we were talking about Primeval Whirl......those cars spin like the tea cups. Add that to the coaster & its not for me. :hurl: I don't do spinning.

As to the original question, don't expect to get by if 1/4 inch off. The measuring device for Indy at DL is a cobra, and your head must be able to touch it. In 2001, they denied my son because the CM was just able to put a postcard between his head and the cobra. I had even taken a tape measure to the store when we bought shoes before the trip to make sure he was 46" in the ones that we bought.

Since those maps fold, he rode it eventually, although boosting height 5" is pushing it IMO.

In my opinion I also agree that five inches is pushing it... there are so many things at stake.... lives, jobs, families, lawsuits!.... a fuss over 1/4 an inch makes perfect sense to me... it's so close and must be frusterating... but anything below that... :lookaroun
