having a mini panic attack....

Made a $350 payment last friday (sept 6th) and it was taken out of our bank account but is not showing up on our balance. I figured it was just the website being the website so I called to check... and they said we haven't made a payment since august 2nd! They took the money, it shows up as "reservations WDW Fl" on the bank statement. SO I sit on the phone for 1 hour and get sent to several different departments only to be told its to late to talk to billing so call back tomorrow! $350 dollars is a lot to just "worry about later" for us and I am pretty upset with the way they handled all of it. Any one else have this happen before? We made the payment using the website (which I told almost-husband not to do because it is the worst) and now we are paying for it... For my first time planning a WDW I am feeling really nervous for what other hiccups are to come!

You have the proof the money was taken out of your account. When you call tomorrow ask immediately to speak to a supervisor or supervisor in Guest Relations. This is easy for me to say but try not to worry. I have never had a problem with money that they have not found and fixed.

It can take 3 days for an electronic transfer of funds to show up between the 2 ...bank/vendor. This is normal.
I wish they would have told me that, they just frantically kept sending me to the wrong person and I somehow ended up talking to the people at dining and finally was told to call billing tomorrow morning. I usually have a nice experience with the cast members on the phone but most of the people I talked to were so rude, unfriendly and had no idea what to do with me.

You'll be ok. I make our final payments (we wait until just before it's due, and it's a fair chunk of money) using the web site, and have thankfully never had an issue.

Surprised to hear about the CMs. I've never had any issue with them, even when I was calling to resolve a problem.

One Little Spark...
It's not as common as it used to be, but payments can get "stuck" in the clearinghouse (third party processing system the banks use to EFT). In todays world it seems like everything is automatic and immediate, but it isn't really the case. Most of the time it gets "un-stuck" fairly quickly, but it can take a few days.

As was mentioned, give it 2 - 3 days. If it is stuck in the clearinghouse, Disney won't be able to give you any information on it, which may explain the confusion the CMs had. They won't be able to see it until the funds hit their bank and the are registered in the billing system.

I wouldn't worry...but if it's longer than 3 full days, I'd certainly follow up with Guest Services.

I havent had your experience but as a Travel Agent we have access to a different payment system for Disney vacations. As others have said, you do have a record of it so I am sure they will be able to track it down for you and all will be fine!!! Keep us updated on what happens!! Marie

I wouldn't worry about it. Really. You have the bank proof with your statement that shows they took out the money. I get all panicy when things don't go perfectly and have to wait over night for it to be resolved. It can take a few days for it to transfer the funds and reflect on your statement. When I made a recent payment, it was about 3 days before I got the new statement emailed to showing my new balance. But it showed in my bank acct the next day. It really will be okay. :)

We need time for things to happen.
Dang Loch Ness Monster!!!

Oh dear God...I just cried my eyes out...LOL!!
I have to be honest, I had NO idea about that reference.
I just Googled it and now I have tears streaming down my eyes and my gut hurts.

I do not watch South Park on a regular basis, but EVERY time I watch it I always ask myself why I'm not tuning into it every week.
I don't know how those guys come up with this stuff but it is pure comedy genius.

Had almost-husband call today since the money was taken out of his bank account and he got everything resolved. They originally told him that the payment of 350 was on our account but that our balance was still the same, turns out they applied it towards our original hotel reservation that we had canceled to book the whole package! I am not sure why this was such a pain yesterday but thankfully its all fine. Lesson learned, make payments over the phone and skip the website... even the cast member told my fiance that.
