Have you noticed the lack on maintenance ?

Question ----Does Disney have people that walk routinely through the parks looking for maintenance issues or trash issues so they can call it in and be corrected immediately?
One would think now with modern technology ( ie smartohones) one could snap a pic , take a video and send it to departments to address and fix. If there is issues with the supply chain getting product to fix the issue , that is another challenge.

Management supervises the facilities. It takes too long to take a pic and it’s pointless. You’d swear based on comments like this that managing anything prior to smart phones was impossible.

if I walk into a restroom and find it in disorder a call over the radio is faster and more efficient than drafting an email and sending a pic.

Disney hasn’t been immune to staffing challenges and all shifts pre pandemic are not staffed.

Also, guests are more frequently pigs than they used to be. If you drop a paper towel on the ground do you pick it up and dispose of it in the proper place? In 2020 I’d venture to say that 80% or more of you do not. In 2000 about half of you would pick it up. In 1980 80% or more would pick it up.

A comparison of guest behavior of 1980 compared to current times ? What is your basis of 80%? If merely calling in for a cleanliness request on radio, but if areas in question are really mildewed and dirty, a picture reinforces the request.

Pictures are a training tool tied to training/ retraining/ discipline / accountability etc
This discussion was not about training but instead day to day operations. The suggestion to use pictures was related to reporting an issue of immediate concern. Your point is not relevant to the discussion.

I am new to this post and was an annual pass holder for years until 3 years running the trams were broken and the only way to the Magic Kingdom from the transportation center was the ferry. Now the focus is on new hotels and the sky ride. Parks are closed to hotel guests because they’re at capacity and you have to pay for the new “Fast Pass” replacement system. Paying hundreds if not thousands of dollars for a hotel and meals for a week, and not being allowed into a park is unacceptable. Even the park bathrooms are showing signs of neglect
Shuttle buses are also used at various times to get from the parking area to the entrance to MK. I was there this past October and a cast member was announcing the location of the buses on a speaker vs waiting in a long line for the monorail or the slow ferry. I took a bus and it wasn't bad at all. There is also now a walking path between the MK and parking area if you feel like a bit of exercise. ;)

Yes it is, pictures reinforces issues that need to be addressed immediately but some will go the denial route.

Case in point

Donald/Daisy , this is Walt, I need you please to take care of this ASAP. See attached picture.

That's because in 1980 paper on the floor was a fire hazard with 80% of guests throwing cigarette buds anywhere they happened to finish their smoke.

In 1980 Disney I remember a lot more custodial staff sweeping up any cigarette butts on the ground as well as chewing gum. My last visit in 2019 Don't remember seeing as many

Regarding cigarettes when we enjoyed One Mans Dream at DHS years ago, there was an exact replica of Walt's office in CA. I counted at least 6 huge glass ashtrays spread throughout his office - on his desk, table lamp cabinets and long table.

Yes, and Disney custodial staff have company email addresses and access to computers. Come on. I don't allocate computer time to my custodial staff. I guarantee you've never worked in any park or you wouldn't be so insistent on being right.

If your boss sent something similar to you, you would be acting on it rather quickly. Seems like you have work challenges in the park being clean , don't believe on pictures as reinforcement , as someone who leads their team. You've never heard of a text with a picture , take care of this ASAP?

This is completely false.

This is also completely false.

You did get this right. ;)
With respect to parks being closed to hotel guests, we just ran into this, albeit in an unusual situation. One of our sons was a last minute addition to our group. We got him a room at the YC but weren’t able to get him a ticket for one of the two days he would be with us because we were told the MK was closed that day—it was the park at which the rest of us had reservations.

Nope, I've never heard of a text with a picture. How do you do such a thing?

Why do I doubt that Disney gives custodial staff company email addresses, office time, and company-issued phones?

What I'd really like for your to explain is how do I send a picture when my team does not have company email or a company phone? Please tell me. Without such tools at our disposal it must be a miracle that our restrooms are clean.
