Have you ever had a name for a ride either then its real name?

Any conversation we have at home about Maelstrom always ends with "Back back over the falls!"

And as kids, my sister and I usually called SSE the golf ball, too. I think that one is pretty standard.

And after our last trip, we call the Country Bear Jamboree "Oh God, never again!"

i always liked the cbj because something always breaks like or doesn't work

When my boys were very young they were fascinated with trains.

You'd be surprised how many trains there were at WDW then. And just in the Magic Kingdom.

The Orange Train -- parking lot tram
The Red Train -- Walt Disney World RailRoad
The Blue Train -- Wedway People Mover
The Yellow Train -- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (one of the engines was yellow!)

Of course, the Monorail itself varied by official Monorail color, depending on which one we were in.

We called World of Motion "The Rib Tickling Ride", it had something to do with the intro but it's been so long I don't remember where it came from.

We're not big fans of "Lights, Motors, Action!", we call it lights, motors, gauge my eyes out.

We also have an inappropriate name for Splash Mountain. :)

When my sister and I were kids, my mom always wanted to Watch Illuminations every time we went to EPCOT. We got so sick of it that we quickly dubbed it "Abominations" and we still call it that today.:p

I'm right there with you. It's still going to be MGM to me for a long while, changing some signage doesn't erase close to two decades of identity.

I think my biggest hurdle is the abbreviation "DHS" - I used to work in a hospital, and around here that means "Department of Human Services" and I just can't drop that "DHS" association in favor of this new one, as the concepts are such polar opposites to me LOL.
