I can live with this characterisation!I think you have a very practical and defensible stance on this. “British”…in other words.

Just got back…Hey, they pull it off with me whenever I visit. I can't wait to go back!
I haven't been back in almost 5...but I watch closely, and I'm close with people who go multiple times a year.Just got back…
by my math you haven’t been in going on 2 years?
…things aren’t always the same. A lot to shake out and their management is horrendous and just getting started
This is so much more common than many believe. There are a lot of people who go to Disney, spend a poop ton of cash, and think they can just do it how they want. It's a recipe for disaster with the wrong personality. The frustration level can escalate very quickly when you've spent thousands and are doing nothing.Hell, I have 4 family members that know I'm a Disney nut and not a one of them asked me anything prior to their trips (and big shocker - none plan on going back).
I was last there for a few days in February 2020, with no idea of what was about to happen the following month. I imagine it will be a good year at least before I return, by which point I hope that some of the dust from all the changes will have settled.Just got back…

They advertise themselves as a world-class vacation destination. What part of that should EVER be stressful? So it's Disney's fault now when adults can't handle the stress and start fighting? Some of you posters can make a pretzel out of all the ways you can twist things.
Plenty of world-class vacation destinations entail crowds, expense, and planning (which is what people seem to mean here when they refer to stress). Venice, London, and New York are just three that come to mind. They advertise themselves as a world-class vacation destination. What part of that should EVER be stressful?
Idk what to tell you if you believe everything in ads. I remember learning all about the various ways advertisements mislead consumers in fifth grade. It was part of my public school education! They advertise themselves as a world-class vacation destination. What part of that should EVER be stressful?
It's not me...see my comments above with people not seeking out information apart from marketing materials, the WDW website, or their travel agents.Idk what to tell you if you believe everything in ads. It's a combination of both. Misleading advertisements and stupid consumers.Does Disney actively advertise a stress free experience or are consumers just that stupid?
Why don't you read some of the other comments.I just went to a baseball game and my team got blown out. All the commercials made my team look good!
Naturally I got into a fist fight on my way out and it's my team's fault.
I do agree with what others have said about the highly idealised terms in which Disney advertises itself, though I would expect all potential visitors to do their homework, just as they should with any expensive purchase.Does Disney actively advertise a stress free experience or are consumers just that stupid?
So would the courts. I wonder what the fine print on the tickets say with regards to guaranteeing any sort of experience, stress free or not? Hell if I know, I never read that stuff because I'm a red blooded American.I do agree with what others have said about the highly idealised terms in which Disney advertises itself, though I would expect all potential visitors to do their homework, just as they should with any expensive purchase.
The difference is that the tourism boards for the three cities you mention (and many others, even state like CA or even CO), aren’t feeding Joe Exotic this fantasy that they can plop down whatever it takes for a week with their kids where everything will be spoon fed perfection. The expectation for most Americans that I’ve come in contact with in my 41 trips around the sun is that London alone (not the British Isles) will take the better part of a week to enjoy. Or that heading to Paris is no cheap plane ticket, so go all in and spend two weeks or more enjoying as much of France as you can.Plenty of world-class vacation destinations entail crowds, expense, and planning (which is what people seem to mean here when they refer to stress). Now, you and others raise an excellent point that anyone with even one reasonably firing Hemisphere should be able to figure out that all of this is impossible to achieve just by looking at the WDW website. But that left side of the bell curve, so adept at ruining nice things all over the place, will do exactly that when a day of tension, dehydration, and malnourished and whining children/spouses/grandparents have been beleaguering them all day. It’s a recipe for disaster, especially if that one day alone cost someone half a month’s salary.
Again, NONE of what I’m arguing here condones such abhorrent behavior. But when parents are attempting citizens’ arrest of principals, WDW won’t be immune to those people trying to ruin the day for their family regardless of location.
I fully agree with this. The only thing I'm questioning is the idea that Disney is somehow setting the scene for such behaviour. But when parents are attempting citizens’ arrest of principals, WDW won’t be immune to those people trying to ruin the day for their family regardless of location.
