Haunted Mansion

I bet a rated R Haunted Mansion movie would make money especially if Del Toro did it. It would garantee a great complex story. Maybe it is time for something more adult then a pointless comedy.

I hope for the best, but It was sad that Del Toro's version didn't happen. Just look at Pinocchio and imagine what HM could have been...

Since you were unfamiliar with this matter, here’s a report from Yahoo indicating that this was settled out of court.

not seeing much on Haddish’s IMDB going forward.
I clicked on the article it was written in September of last year

Its runtime is 122 minutes and the current opening weekend projections are between 35-50 mil.
That weekend line up:
Barbie and Oppenheimer 2nd week and MI7 3rd week.

I'm looking forward to this movie but I personally don't think it will do that well.

Barbie and Oppenheimer will inflict sever damage to HM's second week numbers. MI7 will bury it out back.
I agree. The PG-13 rating might hurt it with families with young kids deciding what to take the whole family out to see.
It could be good counter programing though.

It’s relevant in that Haddish - who has second billing on the film - was noticeably absent yesterday at Disneyland where the other stars were promoting the film:

Why is it relevant if one of the stars can't make an appearance?

She's scheduled to show at the ESSENCE festival showcasing HM.
Studio Showcase: “Haunted Mansion” director Justin Simien is joined by cast members LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish and Rosario Dawson to kick off the festival on Friday with an influencer brunch at the Grand Oaks Mansion at River City Venues. The cast will take part in events and panels on Saturday and Sunday that also include special looks at the new Disney+ series “Star Wars: Ahsoka” and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming musical feature “Wish,” starring Ariana DeBose.

This is weird. I'm a lifelong Disneyland fan, adult age Tokyo Disneyland fan, and barely put up with WDW lately. I've been on The Haunted Mansion more times than I can count across three different continents. (Not a huge fan of the ride per se, I just enjoy it casually and it's low wait times and dark air conditioning). I saw the Pirates movies in the 2000's. But I have no plans to see this movie. I wouldn't even know it existed if I didn't visit this corner of this website. Are there commercials for it?

But... I have plans to see Barbie. Our whole adult family is going to see Barbie at Del Mar Cinepolis the third week of July. It's a summer must.

I'm an old man. I've never played with a Barbie in my life, or had any friends that did. My younger sister had Barbies, but I ignored them as much as I tried to ignore her at the time. I am gay, but Ken has never been my type, even at Last Call on a Saturday night. But here I am, excited about seeing the Barbie movie with six other family members (3 are women who owned Barbies, 3 are men who are in the same cultural boat as me minus Ken at Last Call).

But The Haunted Mansion movie? I'll pass. At least for now, until I hear that it's truly fabulous. Seriously, are they gonna market this one at all?

I think it's aiming to be another Pirates of the Caribbean, which was also PG-13.

I think it should have been a fall release, but if it had to be released in the summer, I would have given it more breathing room. I don't think Oppenheimer will be much competition as it's an R-rated adult historical drama. Still, Barbie could take away a lot of women/gay men who would have been interested in seeing the Haunted Mansion.

I also think Mission Impossible 7 is more likely to harm Indiana Jones 5 than the Haunted Mansion.
