Haunted Mansion Set dinner????

Hey there everyone!!!! I just got done speaking with Pam who asked me to put up this poll. Disney had informed her that we could have a dinner in the Haunted Mansion Set that is currently up at MGM Studios in the back of the park towards Voyage of the Little Mermaid. It could be a pre-plated sit down type of dinner, or a buffet. At least two entertainment Cast Members would be present to play some spooktacular roles and we can add in extras such as a band, DJ, etc. How many people would be interested in going?? Thanks!! Belle

Okay, I had to vote "not my thing" not because it doesn't sound like fun, but because I'll be traveling with my 4 year old daughter and I'm not thinking she would enjoy the spookiness/screaming aspects of it. Darn.

Do we have a date yet that we are working on for this?? I know we talked about the weekend of the 4th and 5th.

Hey there!! I am right there with your daughter!!!!!!!! Remember this event ha not been selected as of yet. A great many people have shown interest in this which is good, but we arent sure what the cost of this would be. In addition we are still requesting from Disney a listing of other options and the cost for those options. This is far from being over. Au contraire, it has only begun!!! Belle

My only concern would be the price! If they charge $30/person for dessert, I imagine that the price for dinner would be prohibitive for many.

I really enjoyed the Fantasmic dessert party, and wouldn't mind doing it again...as long as we can be in the same area. I also wouldn't mind doing the Illuminations party again. The opportunity to have reserved seating (in a real chair!!!) at these events, ALONG with desserts, is worth it, IMO.

I've never been to a meet before, but I have an AP and I am thinking about going down that week for a few days anyway. This sounds like fun - but I voted it "depends on the cost". I'm definately not adverse to paying for a premium meal, especially one as heavily themed as this, but if it's like $100+ a person it might be a little much (not that I know a figure, but that's what I'm assuming it might be based on TheMom's quote of $30 for desert).

BTW, am I totally missing something, or is there not a thread for the Dec meet? I just see the one for July stickied...I'd really like to get involved if I can figure out how.

I think we will probably have to scrap this idea for the Haunted Mansion set. After crunching the numbers with all of the different costs of things involved plus the fact that you have to have 60 people in attendance.......

It would be approx. $150 per person

I don't know about anyone else, but I cannot shell out $600 for 4 people.

We also have the other options of the different Grand Gatherings, they run approx. $59 per adult.

Another option that I am awaiting information on is doing something in the lounge at the top of Spaceship Earth.

We will try to get as ideas as possible for things to do.

i would love that, if i can make it i will be there, i don't know for sure, sorry

I would go with the Buffet, instead of the dinner. And i would love to explore the set with the CM's and act on them, that would be amazing! I have always wanted to perform for disney, so i am taking classes, etc. What an experance that would be!!

go for it, but cost would be an issue for most all. $150 is too much. Something around 50-60 dollars would be best, and is a good range.

aww , I don't have that much money to spend on dinner. I am a poor high school student w/ no job (next year I will get one at Disney). I think maybe somewhere for dinner would be better like dinner in the Tiki Room! Ok , maybe not there but you know what i mean somewhere else cool like that. I wish i could go to the meet

Hey Twirl we have already gone through 2 different types of dinner things and we eliminated them for the same reason, they were too expensive We are having our Meet on December 4th which isa Saturday. We are getting together at the 50's Prime Time Cafe in MGM and will probably tour the Osbourne Lights afterwards. For all the information, please check here:
