During this refurb, they better re-route the queue so that you enter the Mansion from the FRONT DOOR!!! Entering the Haunted Mansion from the front door is an iconic experience, a rite of passage if you will, and the fact that for 50 years you've never been able to go through the front door... it's preposterous. Eddie Murphy goes through the front door in the iconic piece of film history The Haunted Mansion (2003), so why don't we? Cheapek better fix this or I'm cancelling Disney forever!!!

They did fix this for Phantom Manor, but the way the stretching rooms are placed in the facade it's unlikely to ever happen.

Be glad you at least get to enter through the facade. In Tokyo and Orlando you go underneath it and it looks extra fake.

We don’t go through the front door? I’m disappointed in myself

The way you enter the house in Florida makes absolutely no sense
It actually does make a lot of sense for that style of house, but it does feel overall less climactic than walking in through the front door might. Growing up with WDW's Mansion, stepping up onto the porch and entering the side-ish door on my first trip to Disneyland felt like a revelation.

Phantom Manor felt even creepier . . . until the door opened. The slant-y hall to the Foyer makes it feel very contrived - "who would ever build their house like this?" But standing on the porch, looking out over Thunder Mesa, waiting for those big, great doors to open is an exercise in suspense that really is one of the great joys of Disneyland Paris (and the park is not short on such joys).

All this is to say, I don't begrudge Disneyland for not walking guests in through the front door, and with the level of excavation it would take to change it I don't expect them to do it now.

If the HMH installation is causing so much damage, then... oh, I don't know... maybe STOP IT.
It doesn't normally cause that much damage, I think people are nitpicking and I think maybe this year they didn't have as careful of.people as normal. They will never stop the holiday overlay, it makes WAY too much money for them.

Huh? They are so much better than the DL version and considering how cheap photopass is out here, it would make sense. If you don't want the video, don't add it to your photopass, but gives the option to those that do.

HM at Disneyland is in such a dilemma.. darned if they do, darned if they don't (change and/or upgrade something, that is). I think we can universally agree that Constance needs a refurb, but it still hasn't happened..? Other than that, HM is so timeless, classic, Disneyland that I believe the suits are afraid to make any real alterations with the exception of Hatbox (who had a home their previously anyway).

Pirates is a prime example of what happens after modern TDA gets their grubby paws on it. IP & PC.

Um, nope nope nope. They look utterly unconvincing, like a flat cartoon on a TV screen, which is what they are. They're frequently blurry and the ride goes by so fast you can't really tell what the hell they're doing. They're a major fail. The old effect was 3D and the ghosts looked like they really were inside your Buggy. I hope to god TDO brings the old effect back. And cleans up that terrible cluttered claustrophobic new queue - which is another disaster.
