They've really done a good job "plussing" the HM. I was a bit skeptical when they replaced the ghosts at the end with the computer-animated ghosts but it works really well.
I think that the additional queue area was also a win.
I mention this because it's so easy to take something that is damned near perfect and try to make it "more perfect" and, subsequently, screw it up.

I can't wait to see this ending. Not sure if anyone can get a good video or not.
I'm really on the fence about the ending anyway, so I hope this helps a little. I'm pretty sure I'd rather have the old ending with the ghost just sitting in your buggy. This scene only lasts a few seconds and half the time I'm trying to catch up and figure out what the ghost is doing. Don't get me wrong, it's really cool and a solid update, but not sure if I like it more than the old version.

I can see certain little kids really being freaked out by that
Haven't heard of any getting freaked out when they swap your heads off or blow it up like a balloon until it pops, so why should this freak them out anymore??

This technology is pretty fun... rumor has it that at the end of Frozen Ever After, Kristoff will pee the name of all the people in the boat into a nearby snowbank... it will be magical indeed...

You know, if they really wanted to do something creepy they could have your ghost "follow" you to your next couple of attractions, like have an image of the ghost appear above your head the next time the rider's photo is displayed on something like a screen on Test Track or Tower of Terror.
Maybe they could have temporary photo badges from a lot of attractions that effect your photo image on others- like riding the Avatar ride makes your skin have a blue filter over it for a while, or Pirates gives you an eyepatch, and other goofy stuff like that.

My wife is the same as you - she thinks they ruined the ending and that the ghost in the buggy should come back.
