It will be movie-related (which sucks),
This is all Pirates of the Caribbeans fault:lol:

They really cant do that to the HM. They movie didnt do as well as PotC. This really upsets me. If they make a Jungle Cruise movie than its going to get movie AAs too. Why are they doing this. Im really really rearlly upset. I know what your thinking once they confirm it Im going to write a letter to they and make a petition.

To me, any refurb for the HM would be greatly appreciated. As it stands, the stretching rooms are in disrepair, ruining the effect, the audio doesn't work on many of the doombuggies & there is no central story to the attraction. PotC suffered the same story problems, but the refurb greatly helped with that.

I agree about the stretching rooms - there is a huge difference between WDW and the refurbed DL versions in that regard.

A question - the CM on our last visit (May) was great in character, but she referred to the hanging corpse in the stretching room as "she." I know there is no official storyline, but I always assumed it was a male corpse (Paricularly since the very masculine ghost host says "There's always my way out" at the time of the unveiling.

Was this unusual, or a variation or subtle change on the story line?

Must have been a slip of the toung! The corpse is in fact wearing pants so if you think about the time its a guy.

I agree it needs a refurb, but not from the movie:hurl: I seem to remember reading about some plans to update the hitch hiking ghosts. Things that look very dated can be updated with new effects and not change the core of the ride. Like pirates I love the ride and I hope it gets some quality attention.

As for the gift shop, I dont think its a bad idea. I know my daughter would love it, just like she loves the pirate gift shop. I would rather them focus the attention on the ride first.

First of all, I really liked the HM movie. Also, I heard for sometime that they were going to put Jennifer Tilly in the ride as Madame Leota, but many fans disapproved. If they build a gift shop, does this mean they will get rid of the Madame Leota Cart by the Liberty Belle enterance?

This will be interesting. This will mean some major updating to the entire building.

But again, this could just be another monorail extension rumor.

Disney is extending the Monorail!

I agree, I also liked the movie. I dont think it was the best movie I ever saw, but enjoyed it just the same. Also isnt the floating Leota head idea from the movie, or is it from the DL version?

As far as I know, the Leota head has always been on both WDW and DL versions of HM.
I really hope something is done with haunted mansion, the beginning area with the creaking doors is fairly outdated and the spider portion is incredibly cheesy looking.

It's definitely a male (I believe it's supposed to be Master Gracey)......but that shows how bad the storyline of the attraction is.

drumbum, i don't think that's what RedBaron meant. the new floating Leota is only at Disneyland and I believe it was originally going to tie into the movie more closely, but the film wasn't the kind of "potc" phenomenon that they were hoping for, so they didn't publicize it as such. jennifer tilly even promoted the movie saying that she was going to replace Leota Tombs and Elanor Audley in the attraction itself. thankfully that didn't happen

I thought the movie tried really hard to be good, but eddie murphy (and tilly) ruined it. the sets, costumes and music (except for the terrible end credits song) were great however

HM is easily my favorite ride at WDW. Anything that can be done to rehab problems with the stretching rooms, sound problems, etc. is great......But.....Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please PLEASE.....................NO EDDIE MURPHY OR JENNIFER TILLY. :hurl: :lookaroun :hurl: :lookaroun
