Haunted Mansion "endless" hallway question

Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the "endless" hallway? Judging from a small diagram, and assuming that the doors of the hallway have the standard dimensions of a common house hold door, I was able to calculate a ruff estimate that it's about 54 ft. long. Can anyone correct me? Also, I'd like to know the height and width. If you have anything else, such as the exact dimensions of the doors, or anything, please let me know!

Don't know that answer.

But something I never realized until I got a private walking tour of the DL Mansion---the endless hallway runs along the back wall of the ballroom. If you walk all the way down the hallway to the candelabra, there will be a door on your left. That door leads to the staircase landing in the middle of the ballroom.

Another point you may want to think about in terms of the height and width of the endless hallway is this: did the imagineers use Forced Perspective here? We see this technique used in various areas around the parks. Why not here?

As Skyway states, "the endless hallway runs along the back wall of the ballroom," and your estimates put the hallway roughly 54 feet long, but do you think the walls get a little narrower and the roof a little lower to create the appearance of an even longer hallway?

If so then the exact measurements will be difficult to get, with the walls and ceiling not staying the same height throughout the entire length of the hallway.

Thoughts?

We've got enough daredevil CM's on this board to get one of them to investigate for us, right?! :lookaroun

I'm going to guess not. I'm thinking that because of the nature of the illusion and its use of mirrors, it wouldn't work correctly using forced perspective.

Thanks guys for the responses. I know it sounds funny, but if no one actually knows, would a CM actually do it? :lookaroun

I would, but I'm not at all a normal type of guy!

Every layout I've seen shows dead space between the hallway and the ballroom.

It's not entirely dead space (unless that was meant as a pun... ;) ) The hearse parked in the ballroom scene uses some of this space. And they probably need some space outside the big windows, too, for the proper view "outside".

It's longer than 54ft.
According to the prints I have (which are extremely blurry, so an exact measurement is not possible) it comes in somewhere between 75 and 80ft.
Why? Gonna build yourself one?
If you need to make a floating candle....

Really? Do you have an estimate on the height and width?

Why? You'll just have to wait and see. :king:

Looking at these photos, I'd estimate around 10 feet wide and about 12 high at the transoms(or whatever you would call the dividing doorway walls.) Although the actual ceiling would be much higher between the doorways.

Notice the picture taken from the opposite end of the hallway looking towards the doombuggies. You can see a whole doombuggy and two partial buggies.

I brightened this picture up a lot so you can see more detail.

I'm assuming floor tiles at 12", doors at 8 feet high, and doombuggies approx. 4 ft. across.
