You guys ever deal with friends or relatives that make snide comments because you just went or are going on another in their words "expensive" trip to WDW?

Family? No. They thought I went to Florida too much and thought I was crazy to move here. "It's so hot! Why would you want to LIVE there?!" (Because it isn't cold.)

But some people I knew made comments. In one ear, out the other.

Yeah, my buddy/coworker ribs me about it all of the time. Have I mentioned that he's the same guy that spent like $600 on a bicycle and spends thousands on running equipment?

I don't get the expensive comments so much but I get the "again? Don't you want to go somewhere different?" comments. My answer is "No, I don't".

We don't tell anyone we're going anymore just for that same reason!
But, they always ask us if we're going to DW again this year!

My sister has lived in Orlando for over 20 years and for the longest time she would avoid going to the parks with us. Then she was a regular at Sea World. Universal after that. Now, she's come around since I've been going to Disney regularly. She bought a pass.

I get it from every direction. My DH was raised on a farm and had never done anything that wasn't fishing, hunting or educational travel related, so my MIL can't comprehend going to WDW once let alone every year. My family loves WDW as much as myself but do not go due to financial constraints, so they hate on me for going without them. I'm an accountant at a CPA firm. They don't do "theme parks." They take trips to Scottsdale, Europe and Hawaii so I'm almost looked at like a carny...LOL.

I get the "expensive" comments from family hinting that I take them with me...and pay for them of course. Um, no.
I get the "again?" comments from just about everyone else. They just don't get it.
To each their own. More room for us at WDW!

See, we value our vacations, and we don't do Disney every year, but even in regards to our other vacations, people ask, "what did that run you" ect... but we also don't spend money on other things like the newest cars or ipads ect.

When you cant take it anymore BUY DVC.... when you buy DVC your come back becomes.... "WE got that stinking Time Share... we gotta use it or lose it.... " lol!
