Hatbox Ghost is Disney World?

Just some things I want to point out about the differences between the two versions.

The theming at the DL version on the queue is done so much better with the thunder storm visual effects you see out the windows and the paintings of the hallway you see while on line. My favorite difference is the story behind the DL version is that your soul is whisked away onto your doom buggy. In the WDW version, it is obvious that you are waiting on line to ride an omnimover. In the DL version, it is dark and flighty and it actually feels like our souls being whisked away (not that I have any person experience with my soul being whisked away - thank goodness - but I'm just saying...).

The DL version is all dark and eveything is on sync. The WDW has bright and colorful lighting which destroys the mood, in my opinion.

Why do the parks always have to have the same things?

Hopefully it stays a Disneyland-exclusive.
I think they should be alike from park to park with every park having the very best version it can and fir many of yes wdw us so easy to get to and we may never get out to dl. Wdw is easy to drive to is you live on the east coast but vey expensive to fly a whole family out to dl. I would expect dl goers to want what wdw has if it's better to it would only be fair.

I agree
I think it's because WDW was supposed to get the HBG if not for the effect failing and it's copy was cancelled or scrapped.

WDW sells quite a bit of HBG merch.

It's historic to Disneyland because of the rumors if it ever existed or not pre internet findings to it being a piece of interest at WDW because it is something that was supposed to have been duplicated.

Now that the effect works, why not finally make a duplicate for WDW?

Some people here exaggerate about DL's condition. DL and DCA have their problems, neither of them are perfect.
Come on, Disneyland is nearly the pinnacle of theme park operation around the globe. I'll trade your three bad lands (oh wait, it's down to 2 starting later this month) if we can fix our 2 really screwed up parks, and one under built park. You just don't understand that WDW has been in 0 investment mode over the last few years. Disneyland has gotten it all. I feel not only is this represented by CapEx, but also just operations too. WDW has been a place where cut corners are normal relative to DL.

All I'm trying to say is any issues Disneyland has can be summed up in four words while compared to WDW. Not a big deal.

I'm sorry you didn't like the paint job of Tomorrowland, but when we have travesties such DinoLand USA still in existence I'm hard pressed to extend sympathy.

Oh, and did I mention we pay more to get into our MK with several fewer E Tickets? Salt on the wound...

I'm assuming you're not familiar or have an experience with the Disneyland fan communities and our concerns, based on this post. I can also tell you've never seen Hollywood Land at DCA as well.

Bright and colorful lighting? We must be riding different Haunted Mansions at WDW.

There should be an award for missing the point. You might win it.

I'll see your Hollywood Land and raise you a Disney's Hollywood Studios.

No, you've missed the point. You and a few others as well.

The point is, the California parks aren't perfect, even though some people on this site make it seem that way. Problems are problems, and each resort has them, it seems.

Come on, yes I have. You know what? It bears a stricking resemblance to... Hollywood Studios! (Admittedly ours is considerably more extensive and more attractive and detailed) I don't care what your fan communities say. You guys just got a billion dollars and now they're following it up with tens of millions on attractions and nighttime spectaculars. Look at your brand new updated WOC Show just 5 years after it first debuted. Illuminations is 3x as old.

Oh, and lest we forget that you're going to have Star Wars Presence an estimated two years ahead of us. Anaheim is not hurting. Come to Disney World and you'll understand.

Once again, the 60th is coming up, hence the new entertainment.

I never said Anaheim was hurting. Star Wars Land and any type of new Marvel attractions have been rumors. Nothing's been confirmed.

Oh, my mistake. You're right this just isn't an anniversary year for WDW so that's why we didn't get any upgrades. It's not like last year was 25 DHS. (We did get Frozen Fun) Epcot celebrated it's 30th a few years back. Let us not forget MK and the entire complex in 2011. Did we get any fancy fireworks or ride upgrades? Nope. Hey at least for the 40th we got Phil Holmes giving a really boring speech.

You said all the Resorts have problems. Compared to ours yours seem laughable. Note I put "estimated" meaning by our sources around here. I've seen 2019ish for Star Wars at DL and 2021 for Star Wars DHS.

I take back the Marvel part. I haven't seen a firm time frame on that. My mind slipped that in.

I understand that concept plenty. The point you seem to be missing is that Disneyland is constantly spending money to upgrade their parks and attractions while WDW allows theirs to run into the ground to the point where some should probably not even be operating.

I really don't understand why people keep bringing that up as though it justifies WDW's lack of investment. We just had our 40th a few years back and got squat for it. In fact, the last time we received a major influx of new attractions and upgrades, it was part of a celebration for Disneyland's 50th!

Oh my gosh. When did I ever deny money is spent on Disneyland?

MY whole point, from the beginning, was people claim act like the DLR parks are perfect, and they're not.

The anniversary celebrations between the different resorts is inexcusable, for sure. In saying that, it's been a tradition since Walt's era to put on big celebrations every teen years for Disneyland, so there's that. I don't know about WDW, but like I said, there's no excuse.

The problems may seem laughable to you, but they aren't to the fans of the Disneyland community. Sources can say whatever they want, but nothing's official until Disney makes an official announcement and shovels are put in the ground.

Anyone who has rode Buzz recently can attest to this.

I don't think that's a very good example. I rode Buzz at DL just last week and it is FAR preferable to the MK version. I'll take MK's Splash Mountain over DL's all day and I still think that MK's Space Mountain is more fun from a thrill perspective, but that might be it when it comes to the duplicate rides between the two.
