Hasta la bye bye, Back to the Future

Hmmm yes.. Probably Earthquake will be next (you know, in eight years when they decide to add something else to the studios.) :)

Is there anything on the drawing board for IOA? I can't believe it's been so many years without a new attraction there!

They opened the Suess trolly ride - but that barely counts. It needed to open, but really isn't satisfying.

That's one of the worst rides ever. We waited like 40 minutes when it first opened and I was so mad when I got off because it was NOT worth 40 minutes. I wouldn't even wait 5 minutes to get on that.

There are rumors and according to Screamscape trees marked for removal.

And if it's true, the theme park race is going to get VERY interesting...

since i can't go ride BTTF for the last time on friday. i was there yesterday to ride it one last time. and to be sincere, i never felt so sad before yesterday. before i went to see the mardi gras parade, i decided to ride it one last time (it was a 75 minute wait). and just waiting in line made my eyes well up with tears, however i managed to hold some of them back. when the ride ended and doc brown said "Go forth time travelers and Remember that the future is what you make it!" i muttered silently "goodbye doc". finally, the moment i stepped outside the institute, i broke down and burst into tears. it was like cinderella (the 80's hair metal band, that is) once said: "you don't know what you've got, 'till it's gone". who knew that something like BTTF: The Ride would touch someone's heart emotionally like it did with me.:cry::cry:

Rode BttF yesterday for the last time... and honestly... I didn't feel that sad to see it go. I cried the last time I rode Kongfrontation. This time, I honestly kinda felt "alright" with it. Yeah, it'll be sad to not see Emmett Brown anymore... but the reality that closing the ride was the only way to give it a line was more sobering. But alas... it shall be missed...

... just not as much as Ol' Bananna Breath.

I had my last ride on Saturday and it was obvious to me that this ride needed to close. It's just so worn out. I do find it unfortunate, however, that a trademark Universal franchise is leaving the park in exchange for something less than desirable. It would've been nice to see the attraction overhauled rather than replaced completely.

Oddly enough, what I will miss most isn't the ride but the beautiful building, theme and queue. It's not the best in the world but definitely has found its wedge/niche. I hope that whatever the building looks like in the future, it will be respectable and not too cartoony/graphic happy... as has been done with the newer Universal and Disney attractions.

Additionally, I find it sad that the great franchise will leave. I just hope that the replacement is a hit.

EDIT: I just realized that this could very well be the end of Christopher Lloyd's career (even though he hasn't acted in 7 years, the attraction still seemed to make him somewhat relevant).

I thought the Simpsons was supposedly replacing BTTF? I have my doubts, though. Simpsons is a 20th Century Fox film.

hello licensing ageement!

then again, i've yet to be convinced that Simpsons will be the future of the building (as the franchise has been suffering for half a decade and the end of franchise expansion is months away).

-sorry for the double-post

All the more reason for a ride to FINALLY see the light of day.

And I concur about Christopher Lloyd. Watching and listening to him in what is probably his last great success was more sad than the last ride.

what about the direct tv commercial he made, not to mention him being the voice of hacker in cyberchase (don't ask, my niece watches the show;))
