Has anyone used AAA?

Has anyone booked their trip using their AAA membership? Is it worth looking into? Their website seems so vague. Theres no where to entering it in on Disney's website either. Ive never used my AAA membership at disney for whatever reason and now I am wondering if I have possibly been missing out on discounts.

What about calling the Disney reservation line?

Yeh,we call them pencil batteries, good for alarm clocks, etc.:)
People sometimes forget about our foreign forum members. AAA = American Automobile Association. Aside from road service, maps, etc they have a travel agency for members, with group discounts.

I've found that the folks at Kingdom Konsultants can usually beat their deals, so I haven't booked through AAA in years.

No, but I started a thread about this about a month ago. I saw a deal where my AAA would give me a gift card of $50 to $100 if I booked with them. I reached out and got a quote and the price was exactly the same. I didn't feel good about going with them though. Although I would get the gift card, I would loose control of my reservation. Also, I had called WDW and they said that no more Royal Rooms were offered under free dining for the time that I had booked to go but AAA was stating that they could get one for me. I didn't trust that. Maybe they could have. I don't know. Since there was no significant savings (none with the exception of the gift card) I just kept my reservation with Walt Disney World.

disneygirl76 - there are different blocks of rooms held for different groups at times.. so one person being able to get you a room while another may not isn't always supicious.

In that case, i would have just booked through AAA, and if it was able to be confirmed with a # and all, then cancel the Disney one. If not, then the AAA one would have been moot anyways :)

I thought of that. But I just didn't get a great deal of confidence from the person that I was dealing with. He was acting as if I was some how imposing on his time. The other reason why I didn't go with them is that I wanted control over my reservation. I've planned 7 trips to WDW and DL through Walt Disney and everything has been great. It wasn't worth changing it for $75.

We always book through AAA. Our office has a WDW specialist who really knows her stuff. Each trip we price doing it ourselves vs using AAA and AAA is always a bit less.

We found a wonderful AAA agent that is a Disney specialist also. She has been able to get us great deals and find discounts that have saved us money and made our trips worry free. Her involvement in our trip planning has made it worthwhile our using them. We always bring back something for her from the parks as a thank you.

Long Story : My last experience booking through AAA was horrible, but thankfully Disney made it right and blew us away. I went through AAA because they were a few hundred cheaper than through Disney. I had booked a waterview king bed room at the Coronado for my honeymoon last May. The first problem I encountered before we left that our agent never gave Disney our flight information, as we booked the flights through AAA but not in a package through Disney. Another agent corrected it the week before we arrived. After we arrived, we walked around the lake of the resort talking about how beautiful it looked and we couldn't wait to see the view from our room. Then we saw our room. I had told the agent to book a waterview room, but when she called to book it later, she booked a standard view room instead without me knowing. Our view was to the stairwell. The room was so dark it was like we were in a cave. I complained to the front desk and they told me what she actually booked. Thankfully Janet, and another CM who I forget her name, did an amazing job in making it right for us. They said they didn't have any rooms available, and would try to get us into another resort. Our only request was we wanted a view of water, either of a pool or a lake. They ended up putting us into a Lagoon Park View room at the Grand Floridian. Being it was my wife's first time, the customer service and upgrade they gave us blew us both away, and made her want to go back even more. It was the best honeymoon present Disney could give us. Nothing like watching Wishes almost everynight from our balcony when we weren't in the park.

Short story: If you book through AAA, get everything in writing and check it over carefully.
