DVC will allow for 5 in a 1 bedroom for members. If you try and book through Disney, they will not let you put 5 people in a 1 bedroom, except for Kidani Village, Old Key West and I believe Bay Lake Tower.

If you care to try and prove me wrong, simply go to disneyworld.com and try and book a 1 bedroom for 5 people at Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, Wilderness Lodge Villas or Saratoga Springs.
No need to get so defensive here. The OP is a member so cash villa reservation issues on this thread do not apply and may be confusing to someone looking for advice. A cash reservation is just that, and any perk allowed to a member does not apply. OP is looking for input on how to handle a fifth person using his/her POINTS. I don't think a DVC member really cares if the cash guest can/can't book a fifth person in a room. So I won't be checking disneyworld.com to "prove you wrong".

Not getting defensive. You're the one who replied to me saying "Completely Wrong!"

I'm not "completely wrong". I stated that DVC will allow it's members to stay 5 in a 1 bedroom, but Disney through CRO, will not. And I'm not wrong - CRO will NOT book 5 people into a 1 bedroom villa. My response was to someone who was questioning how it could be done and how it couldn't be done. I was simply explaining the answer.

And "stuffing" 5 in a 1 bedroom is not allowed either, but DVC allows it for members.

It's not really "stuffing" in a 1BR. It is just that there will not be towels and such.

The studio does not have enough space to house 5 people and still meet safety codes.

The 1BR does have enough square footage, it just does not have the "comforts" (towels, sheets, beds) for a 5th

I suspect that is why DVC allows a 5th in a 1BR if you are through DVC - they assume the person knows what they are getting into and will arrange their own bedding etc. CRO does not allow it because I suspect there are too many cash guests that go and complain because they are "missing" a bed.

As was stated before, if the OP tries to add a person that is not on the reseravtion they will both be in voilation of fire codes and will also not get a room key for that 5th person

I have put 5 people in a 1BR in VWL, it was not too bad. We used a twin air mattress and bought our own bedding. SInce we had the washer and dryer in the room, we never ran out of towels.

We did 5 people in a 1 bedroom at Boardwalk this year, and are doing it again next year at Beach Club. I was being sarcastic when I said "stuffing". There is PLENTY of room in the 1 bedrooms for 5 people. Heck, they allow 5 in rooms with 400 less square feet.

My oldest daughter's favorite resort is VWL. I gave her a choice, we could either do a 1BR at AKL-Jambo where she would have a bed, or a 1BR at VWL where she would have to sleep on an air matterss. She picked VWL. Since there were two adults and 3 kids, and I get first checked bag free, it was a simple matter to pack the air mattress and bedding into a suitcase. At night she slept by the doors to the balcony, and during the day we would stand the air matteress up in the corner. Plenty of room to do so.

What time of year are you going? Animal Kingdom seems to have some of the best deals. Depending on the time of year, you could always rent a few extra points at $12 a point from Timeshare. You could also spend a night or two somewhere off site or on site, and then pony up for the one bedroom. Personally, we go in November before thanksgiving week, and that's the 2nd best time of the year to go, pointwise.

If you can get it the BLT 1BR is very roomy and comes with 2 full bathrooms and the pull out couch and chair in the living room so you can have the kids stay there and camp out in the MBR:)
