Has anyone heard a rumor about paying for extra fast passes?

I wouldn't mind if it was FP+ for everyone and then upgrades tiered to the resorts...that makes sense to me...and would further "incentivize" staying on property.

I've said before that I would buy extra FP+ if they decided to sell it. U$19.98 is not much for a family of two and 6 FP+ is indeed my magical number, count me in as one of those in line to buy into this idea. Now, they should not limit those 3 bought FP+ to tiers, using them at EPCOT and DHS would be a waste of money.

It would be per day. So if you wanted a 6 day pass, for two people, the total would be 120.00 extra.

$200 for our 10-day ticket then. Considering Universal charges as high as $86 per day for their Unlimited Express Pass, I say Disney's would still be a good value. As long as it's not tiered!

Over a year ago in the very early days of MM+, I started a thread asking how much would people pay for a TSM FastPass:

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/how-much-would-people-pay-for-a-tsmm-fp.857571/

Mind you, not how much you or I would pay, but how much they think other people in general would pay.

Fully 1/3 thought no one would buy them. To this day, I don't know what pixie dust they were snorting.

Now that FP+ is for real, I wonder if the results would be the same.

I would also definitely pay it.

Last year, my daughters favorite ride, Test Track, had a 220 minute wait. I would pay anything to not have to stand in any line that long.

Hey look another money grab! Keep up the good work and maybe we can have magic band 2.0 that will be thinner and available in gold!

I wonder how many people out of that 40% will then switch and purchase park hoppers then, just to get the fast pass option to buy. If a lot, Disney could be in for one heck of a lot of revenue.
I am sure some do, but I doubt it is very many. When I had clients that were unsure I would always advise them to go without and add it on if they ended up needing it. I think I had one client that ended up adding it.

Like I have said a thousand times; The rides is what brings families to Disney World. Not the Pavilions, the zoos, the parades, fireworks etc. This limit of 3 will hinder families ability to do the one thing they want to do the most. Taking it away, and then charging us for it makes sense for Disney lol.

Even if it is only 5% out of the 40% to switch. We are talking Millions a year.

You're right, it was called E-Ride Nights. I just found it on Mouse Planet. It was one or a couple days a week for Disney Resort guest only. It was $12 for Magic Kingdom and was only for "E-Rides" (and the ride selection could change). You would buy the voucher and then after 4:00 could exchange it for the wrist band.

Had to chime in on this (been a LONG time since I was on here. E-Ride Nights were the single greatest deal EVER! Like you read, you had to be staying on site and purchase your tickets. They were limited to VERY low numbers (not positive but, the night my family went, there couldn't have been more than 3,000 people in the park). Don't think anything in Fantasyland stayed open late but at least 10-12 others did kept running. We had our own car so we parked at the TTC that afternoon and enjoyed walking onto EVERY attraction for four hours straight. At one point my sister and I went through Haunted Mansion 2-3 times where we were the only ones in the stretch room. We stood back to back because the CMs would try to sneak up on us and scare us. It was amazing. When we finally left, the lot trams were obviously not running and so security drove us out to our car (the only one left in the entirety of the TTC lot, it was creepy). Kind of wish they would bring that back.

Half the parks barely have 3 rides at any given time.

E-ride nights was the greatest deal in the history of the world. I loved it. Loved.

Amen, brother. I remember walking back from Splash Mountain at the end of one E-Ride Night, and I was the only person I could see in all of Frontierland. The music was playing, the torches were on, the lighting effects were set. It was spectacular. And I stopped for a second to take it all in, because I knew the odds of that happening again (legally) were nil.

If they had an add on as described for additional fastpasses I find it hard to believe it wouldn't be far more popular than photopass. If it were $10 per person for three extra - that is easily worth it. Easily.

heck I'm all for it... recoup the money and build more rides... then everyone around here will have to find something else to complain about! haha :)
Disney seems to cry poverty far too often for me to believe that all this "extra revenue" is going to result in more rides. I think the correlation of earnings to more rides is about as arbitrary as it can get in the halls of the decisions makers at Disney. I don't know what it will take for Disney to get off their a$$ and start building. I suspect that the best people can expect between Mine Train and Avatar is maybe a C-ticket attraction and enhancements to existing attractions. There's nothing wrong with enhancing existing attractions, but Disney is looking at an 11-12 year gap between E-Tickets (Expedition Everest to Avatar).

Barely 3 rides?? Do you go to Disney??

Animal kingdom to my family is the weakest park of the 4, and that is with my family going on Dinosaur, Safari, Kali, Twirl, and expedition Everest. I'm not going to waste my time and list all the rides at each park, but there is well over 3 rides, which is why half the people here are mad about only getting 3 fast passes.
