Has anyone heard a rumor about paying for extra fast passes?

IMO By putting 1.5 billion into this system already, they probably already had this trick up their sleeve to begin with. I doubt they thought that spending 1.5 billion now would be fine, because over the course of the next several years, they could get it back. I think they probably figured, lets spend 1.5 billion now, because as soon as plan B gets started, we will double that 1.5 billion in a matter of months, rather than years.

heck I'm all for it... recoup the money and build more rides... then everyone around here will have to find something else to complain about! haha :)

I don't believe that is the current plan and I hope it never happens.

As for $9.99 per day, that is way to cheap compared to other theme parks that charge a front of the line pass. I never have and never will pay a fee for a preferred line system when I am already paying an entry for the park. I just despise the idea!
I, too, despite the idea. That said, the 3 days I spent at Uni Orlando Thanksgiving week using unlimited Uni Express (staying on site) was awfully nice.

I hate it. I like the idea that everybody is treated the same at WDW parks once they are in the parks. It's the only major theme park chain that doesn't yet allow people to pay for shorter lines. I like it that way.

I thought the 10 bucks would be to cheap too, but then if a family of 4 purchased a 10 day park hopper, that is 400 extra for the cost of the ticket. Then think about how many people purchase a 10-day park hopper and multiply it by 100 and the money starts flowing in. For every 10,000 people who buy a 10 day park hopper, that is a million bucks right there.

Back in the 90's my family bought souvenir drink mugs because we were told that we could get free refills forever... things change

it would seem odd to tie this into requiring park hoppers though... I don't know... unless they think that would invite more people to pay for park hoppers and more FP+'s...who knows... they have enough data and do enough surveys to know this already for sure... but as long as everyone gets 3 or more FP's regardless... allowing extras for those that pay more (or are AP or DVC members, etc.)... I see no problem with that.

I realize that too. But still, comparing to other parks it is too cheap. I guess it would make more sense/believable if the pricing were tiered like their park tickets.

A lot more was said on the page then I wrote here. I just wanted to post the jist of the rumor. The guy who posted this rumor called it, "the evolution of the ticket". First you pick your days, then if you want park hoppers click this button and new prices show up. Then after that, the next step in evolution takes place and you can add in the extra fast pass option.

Most likely if this took place, I am guessing that the three they give you would still have to be used in one park. The extra you pay for will probably be able to be used anywhere.

Me and my wife always argued about whether or not the average person bought park hoppers or not. I always thought the majority would buy park hoppers, and my wife thinks that the majority buys just the base. She thinks that if they do start to sell the extra passes, perhaps more people will buy hoppers instead of the base ticket, which then creates even more of a profit for Disney.

interesting... so if I go to book a package today... you can choose:

MYW tickets (1 park per day)
Park Hoppers
Water Parks & More

I would not be surprised to see them add
FP++ (lol or whatever they call it)

When I was a Disney TA it was about a 60/40 split in favor of parkhoppers.

very true... and adding park hopper option to tickets really costs Disney nothing and is pure $'s - then add some extra FP's on top of that as another options... mo' money
